What book is that?
goodreads is a website where you can keep track of the books you've read, review them, and compare with friends.. i've published a review of the new world translation of the holy scriptures.
there you'll also see a very clever rebuttal to my review in all caps no less.. what are your thoughts on my summary?
i'll put the text below.. .

whenever a new branch or k/hall is built, its always proof that supposedly j is blessing his people and speeding up the work.
does that mean when they have to close a bethel branch it means he is pissed off with "his people"????.
It's not much of an investement strategy. The Irish property market is now at a very low point. You don't sell at this point unless you're desperate.
Saying that, It's still probably up considerably from what they paid for it 15 years ago. But if you could hold onto it for another 5 years you might get another half-million. Not bad considering you only have 4 people as slave labour there looking after the place.
when i saw this article on the news it really disturbed me.
the callousness of the 'people' walking by this poor, sweet baby as she lay writhing in pain and all alone, was horrific to say the least.
my blood truly felt like it ran cold and i've been thinking about this little girl all night.
This is so sad. I'm wondering how this was found on video, although,I can't watch it. Was it a security camera,I'm hoping that is the case, because it would be so cold hearted to record this without helping the little girl. Poor baby.
Yea, it was a security camera. I was wondering the same thing before I saw it - could someone stand there and film without helping.
You probably don't want to see it either. I'm not at all what you'd consider the sensitive type, and I wish I hadn't seen it.

This is horrible, and I've seen this sort of thing myself in Ireland (a very Christian nation) only a couple weeks ago. I was stuck in traffic for 10 mins and when I finally reached the end of it I saw the cause. A woman had rolled her car, got out and was holding her head and leaning on the car. The car was off the road, the reason for the traffic was people slowing down to have a good look. There must have been a hundred cars at least pass her and see that she was injured, but none of these stopped to help the injured woman. I did. I helped her into my car so she could sit down and called an ambulance. BTW - I'm an atheist who sees how precious life is now that I no longer believe that we get another one when we die.
I don't think it's right to jump to the conclusion that the incident with the child was sexist. I don't think people were looking at the child, making a gender distinction and using that to base their action/inaction. If anything (I really hope), maybe they saw it and thought it was a doll, and not a person.
The 2nd horrible thing here is PP. He/she can't even get the basic facts right. Almost 1/3 of Chinese are NOT atheist. But I don't really think things like "facts" matter to people like PP.
following the recent breakthrough i have just sent the following email to sky news, expanding on the issue of the "mentally diseased" article to incorporate the issue of uk charitable status.
i feel this is a good angle to go at, because sky news tends to focus on uk economic policy issues quite extensively.
5 million per year in government gift aid being frittered away on a charity that condones breaking-up families and blocking medical treatment seems to me to be a newsworthy item.. here is the email.
If you get a chance to follow up, I think the Nov 2011 Wt that says apostates should be killed is more damning than the mentally diseased slur.
21 days to go!.
whos looking forward to it?.
any kiwis here on this board?.

back in the early 80's right after i was married the main driving point i kept hearing at the meetings was "do more,,, pioneer ".. well being the young impressionable jw couple that we were, .
my wife is a speech therapist, so working pt was no problem, but i ended up working construction, cleaning carpets, and shoveling snow at all hours with the brothers, and i worked like a d*** fool at all hours.. funny how there was so much support for me to work with the witnesses, but once the decision was made work could be very iffy at times.. and the main thing that just causes me to cringe now is how so many of the witnesses in charge of the congregation thought that we did not need insurance, my wife had a policy with her school district, but my son and i did not.
granted medical expenses were not as bad then, but just the idea of thinking that we did not need it that god would watch over us just embarasses me to no end now.
* Shunned my sister for 17 years.
* Considered letting my wife die rather than get a blood transfusion when 1st baby's birth went wrong.
