While there are a load of outlines, the repetition is much more than it should be. This is because elders slowly build up their portfolio of talks that they are qualified to give. A new elder will start out with only a few that they give over and over.

Welcome Karmen. Why have you stopped going to meetings? Is there something you don't agree with?

Will the WTS start taking a hardline towards all the ''faders'' in the org?
by RULES & REGULATIONS in'' faders'' are a thorn on the sides of the wts.
they miss meetings, don't contribute any money, don't go out in service, and can contribute towards the ''spiritual sickness'' of the local congregations.. will there come a point where they will ask each and every ''fader'' if they wish to remain in or out of the congregation?
can they come up with scriptures to warn the congregation that you are a ''fader'' and are be marked?

It would in theory be pretty easy for them to track down all of the honest faders. All they have to do is write a letter to all elders telling them that the next Shepherding Call to each publisher should include the question "Do you believe the WTS is god's direct chanel of communication?". Anyone who refuses to say YES could be DF for apostacy. No additional work necessary on the part of the elders except for filling out the DF paperwork.
Downside: Decreased numbers in the short run. Although riding on the "surplus" of 3% over last year - this might be a good time to cut off some dead wood.
Upside: Eliminate those who cause doubts in others. Perhaps less decreased numbers in the long run.

Official guide to punishing weak ones
by MissingLink inanyone want to help me put together this guide?
i think in the goal of "serving united" we need to have consistent standards.
you know what i'm talking about - when a "friend" of a faithful witness expresses some "weakness" the strong friend will punish the weak one.

If you do miss a meeting for perhaps a legitimate sickness, and happen to view an interresting television program - is there a punishment for talking about such a program that was shown during meeting time?

Information Control- The Governing Bodies Way of Controlling JW ' s
by flipper inby now , most of you have probably been aware that the watchtower society and governing body has done a real cover up on the child abuse scandal that came out this year .
it has truly been amazing , that in spite of nbc news coverage of the child abuse crisis in the organization - probably 90 to 95 % of jehovah's witnesses did not know it even took place or happened at all .
the governing bodies way of exercising " information control " on the jehovah's witness rank and file members !

My copy of "Combatting Cult Mind Control" should be arriving in the post next week. It sounds very interresting. I plan on hilighting the parts that apply to JWs. (or maybe it would be easier to hilight the parts that don't)
This information control was one of the red flags that made me wake up.

You know what I'm talking about - when a "friend" of a faithful witness expresses some "weakness" the strong friend will punish the weak one. I don't think it's ever been printed, but almost everyone did/does it (myself included). I'll kick it off --
Missing the sunday meeting: The "friend" who missed the sunday meeting can not be visited, called, or invited over. A phone call to such a person can be made, but only the following things can be said: "We missed you today" and "You missed a fabulous talk about ..."
Missing a bookstudy or ministry school meeting: The "friend" should be shunned the following day.
Missing all meetings in a week: The "friend" will be excluded from all congregation "get togethers" for at least one week, or until they are back at meetings regularly (whichever is longer)

Opinion - What % of Witness are faders?
by Robert7 inthis is an extension to the kool-aid partakers question.
how many people do you think go (out of family, guilt, etc) but really don't want to and doubt if this is the truth?

I'm beginning to think it's a lot higher than I ever realized. I'd guess 10% really want out and 20% would feel relieved if the WTS admited it was all crap and was closing up shop.
