I bought it from 2 states away and it came on a truck to my shop. No dock here and sure as heck no dock at my apartments. What was I thinking?

My good nature and kind disposition have temporarily left me friendless. It's a minor inconvenience though and I'm positive it's a short term situation.
I thought of building an Evel Knievel jump ramp and jump it into the back of the pickup. -

Serious question. I just bought a buffer to use in refinishing some oak floors. I got the thing loaded tonight but I think I need sphincter dilation therapy. -

Faithful and Discrete Slave
by Johnna inif it is true that the slave class is here to lead the organization, and their numbers on earth are still in the thousands, why is it only just a handful at the headqtrs that send out the spiritual food?
i have known many "annointed" ones over my course of involvement and none of them were ever called on for their input, guidance, counsel, etc... much less to have a turn to lead the work in ny.
aren't they all supposed to be doing the guidance work on the earth?

I was always told Jehovah's Witnesses do not follow any man and they have no leaders. So who are following those who "take the lead"? "Body of governors", and designations like, "those taking the lead", imply leaders and followers.
The question's not: Who are the leaders? . . . the question is . . . Who are the followers if they are not Jehovah's Witnesses?
If the followers "are" Jehovah's Witnesses . . . then Jehovah's Witnesses do follow men. So, which is it? -

Why the Watchtowers "War" argument is totally bogus
by drew sagan infrom my own personal experience the watchtowers position on war always appeared to be one of the most difficult issues to navigate.
a number of times when i was first leaving the wts i spoke with jws who all used this argument to show me how "wrong" i was about the "truth".
while i knew the watchtowers arguments where wrong, i had a very difficult time figuring out exactly why it was wrong.

So are Witnesses pacifists according to the Watchtower? Or is their refusal to participate in military action a political motivated action that says they will not support a competing government not run by them? Aren't Witnesses really NOT pacifists? Wouldn't they fight willingly if they were called to wage war by their political party the "Society"?
Are Witnesses really neutral? Are they neutral proactive? neutral reactive? or neutral inactive?
If they're neutral proactive or neutral reactive, how does that work? Because proactive and reactive imply action. If they're neutral "inactive", how did they oppose the Nazi political party in Germany in the 1930's and 40's. Opposition implies action and neutrality implies indifference. Did they oppose the Nazi political party with indifference? How did that work?
From my point of view, It seems like the Witness Society could be politically indifferent or the Witness Society could oppose a political party but the Witness Society couldn't do both. One is a lie. Which one? Or are they both a lie?
So let's get this straight, The Witnesses claim to be politically inactive and politically indifferent AND the Witnesses claim that THEY are the only religion that opposed the Nazi political party. If they opposed the Nazi Party then they lied about being indifferent. If they didn't oppose the Nazi Party then they lied about opposing the Nazi Party. So which did they lie about?
Aren't Witnesses really a political party masquerading as a religion? Isn't a kingdom really another word for a government? My dictionary says a kingdom is a political or territorial unit ruled by a sovereign. Kingdom this and kingdom that doesn't sound very non political to me. It sounds political and nothing else. Aren't "Kingdom" Halls really "Government" Halls? Isn't the Witness message really a political message? The Witness kingdom will rule the earth.
The Witnesses are led by a "Governing Body". That's a body of governors, not a pastoral committee or a prophet body, but a government body. The Witnesses look like a political party, they act like a political party, and their message is a political message.
The religion angle is a subterfuge, a legitimacy angle, a way to stay in business while undermining established governments. How long will they continue to get away denying what they really are?
The Witnesses are an organized dissent to established legitimate governments.
By the way it was an ex-Witness riding a tank and carrying a gun who got the Witnesses out of the Nazi prison camps during World War 2. Who do ya think really opposed the Nazi party? Inactive Witnesses in the camps or ex-Witnesses on tanks carrying guns? :-) -

need a logical refutation for this JW argument about voting
by chickpea inone of my nearest and dearest "sisters" for years always used this argument at the door to stress the evils of participating in the electoral process>>>>> if you vote for a candidate and then he/she does something in office that leads to deaths ( or whatever.... ) then the people who voted that individual into office share the blame/guilt/bloodguilt..... .
how do i deconstruct that to prove that no one is responsible for a decision other than the decision maker ( or decider as in a new vernacular term) ?.

Yes, a non vote is a vote. And . . . if by voting I'm responsible for bad, then inversely, by voting I'm responsible for the good as well. It's not the voting that's a problem, it's the premise that the responsibility is based on that's wrong.

What will be the reaction in the congregation when...
by JH inwe have many older brothers and sisters in our congregation, and surely the same in many congregations all around the world.. what will be the reaction in the congregations when all these older ones, who were sure they wouldn't die before the end, pass away and leave a vacuum in the congregation.. i don't wish these older brothers and sisters harm, but eventually they will be too old to follow and they will die away.. it won't be the same anymore, when they see these old pillars who stood so faithfully crumble due to old age.. .

I've already seen two generations die who were not supposed to die and the Watch Tower is bigger and meaner than ever. They seem to thrive on failure.
The Witnesses told my parents that they didn't have to live and they didn't have to die. Didn't have to live in the sense that they didn't have to take the actions that responsible adults take, such as getting an education and a career, see that their children were educated, or save and plan for retirement.
Witnesses will sit around and talk about how long they will be dead. Now that my definition of insanity.
