Another treadmill article to Witnesses. Stay on the treadmill through your depressions and illnesses and old age and "promote Kingdom interests." Interestingly, "Kingdom interests" seem to be all tangible . . . tangible multi media products, tangible land, tangible buildings, and fundraising events that translate to tangible cash and tangible new members.
What they are saying is PROMOTE OUR BUSINESS INTERESTS!!
If I ever read a Watchtower study article that encourages readers to spend leisure time with their children and families, help their neighbors, or to rest and relax for good health, I'll eat a vinyl butt cushion off a Kingdom Hall chair.

I think I have to go to the memorial
by 4mylove inthe hubby tells me that a friend called him to remind him of the memorial this saturday.
mind you, they never call, they never write.
my hubby tells me that he may have to go in scrubs because he won't have time to go home and change, that he doesn't mind.

If a person has never seen a black mass, it'd be educational to go to the Witness memorial meeting.

Jesus as Mediator
by One true Jesus Freak ini'm learning my way around the board, i did use the search feature, but i was not able to find what i was looking for exactly.
my question is, at one time jw were taught that jesus was their mediator, then later they were taught that he is not.
what is the current teachings of jesus being mediator?

You wrote: "Are you being serious here, or just silly?"Serious;
"Do you have a quote from their literature that says that?"Yes. The "channel" is what all Witness literature is about. The Revelation book lays it out.
The same journal that dispensed with the 1935 heaven's closed door policy gave the submissive anointed directive. -

Now the Governing Body is the mediator and the anointed submit to local elders. Jesus only talks to the Governing Body, making them "the channel".

How sweet is it to NOT be a JW?
by new light indo you ever revisit the old jw ways of thinking, and then compare it to the complete freedom that you have now?
do you remember judging and fearing the everyday activities of the people around you?
remember that dread of restating "your" position on holidays every few weeks, knowing you would just end up further alienated from coworkers?

It's difficult for me to carry on a conversation with a believing Witness because they live in a delusion based on storybook assumptions and erroneous premises. Generally, they can't have a serious conversation without making a statement that requires reliance on an assumption that can be disabled rationally with one question.
The key word is "rationally". A couple good examples are the blood medical treatment, and world conditions topics. My term "rationally disabled with one question" is a concept because it once took two and a half hours for me to get a Witness to give me his mail address and it was the parsonage attached to the Kingdom Hall two miles from my home.
Once I stopped to visit a Witness when I was on a vacation and he told me: "We don't believe in having fun in this world, we'll have our fun in the new world.". How do I have a conversation with a person after they make a statement like that? -

need advice on internet radio braodcasting and call-in - HELP
by Dogpatch ingreetings gang!.
today is st. patrick's day (i'm irish) and a new project has begun in apostate land.. gary busselman and i are going to start a radio talk show on the internet.. we need your help.. i know nothing of the technology of doing this.. i have a lot of experience on regular radio interviews and talk shows.. as far as i know i am the only "called on" cult expert los angeles, so the news services are familiar with me.. here's what i have in mind and what i need from someone out there.. first the name of the show.. we are thinking the buss and watt show: "what we meant to say.".
(watt was my nickname in the pressroom at bethel, given to me by thomas cabeen).. it will be hosted at www.armageddonokies.com .. i choose a subject to discuss, for 45-60 imn.. we have callers.. no doctrinal issues discussed whatsoever.. the theme is social behavior with a humorous bent.. don't need ideas for what talk about or who to have on or what to say, but.... i need advice on the technology of creating a talk show on internet using existing services or whatever would be best.. i already have an audience.. i would sincerely welcome your comments,.

Hey Randy,
Maybe we can get good air time on a cooking station. They have those don't they? We could do a show on the succulent nature of onions, garlic and leeks. I could do an onion if you could take a leek.
My folk's acreage where we moved when I was 6 had been a turkey farm. My dad built the shack near what had been the manure pile. They didn't spread it, they just piled it in the low part of the land. One year we made garden on that spot and by the time we got it ready about all the seeds that were left were Swiss chard and red potatoes.
That swiss chard must have grown three feet high. We ate swiss chard morning noon and night for a solid month . . . salad, boiled, baked . . . we even made swiss chard pancakes. -

2 JW just came to my office!!!!
by thepackage ini work in a pretty large office building with several dubs ( i got a few of them jobs, not cause they where dubs but smart people), anyways, it's pretty obvious that i no longer go to meetings since i have a beard right now.
2 sisters came by my office and asked how i was doing and invited me to the memorial and a gathering after at one of their houses.
i thanked them for the invite and told them id pass since i already had plans for saturday.

The local Witnesses married one cousin too close and they didn't exactly fall out of the smart tree. They started to shun me and then realized they hadn't lined up anybody else with an appliance cart and a mowing tractor. There was a Witness moving every weekend here and they literally wore the wheels off my cart. I kept that cart parked right by the front door and I kept a full tank of fuel in the tractor and the engine oil topped off.
After they started to shun me I was interested to see who would supply the cart but they still came to me. Instead of asking me, they'd ask my son. Same with the tractor. So they were shunning me and borrowing my appliance cart every weekend and using my tractor to mow Watch Tower owned property.
If it hadn't of been so funny I might have been upset. This went on for years. I finally told em to go buy their own stuff.
That's why the kingdom halls got rid of the pianos. Most companies only had one piano player (usually a woman) and she could have partied like a rock star all day as long as she showed up at the meeting to play the piano. The piano players were virtually immune from being disfellowshipped. This was no little problem. The Witnesses had one person in every company who was bullet proof. -

I've invited Witnesses to treat me and all my friends and family with respect or stay away. I've had them try to talk to one family member while snubbing another and those Witnesses who were stupid enough to think that'd work were invited to leave.
I allowed my Witness parents access to my sons. That was a huge mistake. My dad studied Witness material with my son and my son joined the Witnesses. Then both my dad and my son shunned me. My second oldest son shuns me to this day. Now he's disabled and could use my help but he won't accept any contact from me.
Allowing Witnesses access to my family has had an extremely bad outcome. I won't make that mistake again. I'd advise anyone who has Witness connections, and a family that they care about, not to allow the Witnesses ANY access to the family at all, especially the children. Why risk it all?
The only people who can hurt me or my family are people I trust. I won't give people I don't trust access to me or my family. I let loyalty to parents, naive trust, and honorable expectations get in the way of pragmatic parenting. My job was to protect my family from harm and I failed because the harm came from my father, whom I trusted.
Now my father's dead but the harm he did is in it's second decade. If I had minor children, I wouldn't let a believing Witness within 100 miles of my children.
