1989 Reasoning From The Scriptures-PDF! (BM-S-R)
by Atlantis in1989 reasoning from the scriptures-pdf!
bm=bookmarked s=searchable r=reduced from 148-mb to 62-mb ***************************************** this book was not ordinarily offered to the public.
in most cases, this book was the reason a jehovah's witness always had an answer when a house-holder said, "i am not interested," or wanted to politely ask them to leave!

Just wanted to say hi, also have a question
by exwitless inhey, everyone.
you probably didn't miss me, but i've been away from the board for a few months.
i guess you could say i'm an "irregular poster", and i'm "weak", and should do more "personal study".

If the fourth time through the Revelation book wouldn't kill off the bookstudy meeting nothing would. It could and it did. The death of the bookstudy meeting has been coming up for quite a while, they just couldn't decide how to do it. Interesting that they did it by demoting the Christian Congregations of Jehovah's Witnesses and sending a letter direct from the Governing Body.
I don't know why anybody'd want to read fiction when they could watch the Watch Tower owners try to stay in business. It's better'n a Pop-eye cartoon. The Watch Tower Society shenanigans reminds me of the Roadrunner and the coyote cartoons. Every time the Watch Tower thinks they did something smart another rock falls on them. Then they're off in a corner or back room scheming up a new plan. Hahahaha! Hilarious! -

Nosferatu, Remember what happened last time the Society couldn't manage the elders? With the amount of dissent I'm seeing in the elder ranks now, I'd think we are about at that point again.
My money's on the table. I'm thinking the elder configuration as we see it today is about to go in the fire like fat off a pork rib. The Society can't manage 500 or 600,000 elders and keep em in line. They've shown us that big time. They might be able to manage a version of the old "service director" in each congregation. That'd only be 100k.
Every Watchtower magazine I see they're leaking more blood. These guys in Brooklyn have lost it. It's gotten away from them. They're starting to loose their core group. Seems to me, they are now at the stage where the Society has lost much of the elder cooperation and automatic acceptance they used to take for granted. Things are not going good in those back rooms. -

My dad had my brother and I knocking on strangers doors in dog patch in the dark on school nights every week, standing on city streets on bum's corner selling Watchtowers for a nickle, and approaching all kinds of strangers. He had us out on Christmas morning and even had us cold calling people standing at grave sites in cemeteries on Memorial day.
In my opinion, it's way too dangerous to be walking up to every stranger in any context and kids should never be exposed to these dangers. What did I learn from my experience? My dad was an idiot! We were damn lucky not to have been hurt by his stupidity. -

Steve Hassan's book...
by Mickey mouse in...i just finished reading it.
wow!
the only downside for me is that he talks a lot about how important it is to connect with the pre-cult personality.

If ya all like Steve Hassan, take a look at the great Rick Ross! Steve is brilliant. Rick Ross is the Indiana Jones of the cult busters.
If I were to try to rescue anybody from a cult, I'd want Rick Ross in the car with me and I'd want Steve to do the phase 2 exit counseling. -

The Witnesses are already folding the bookstudy home groups here and apparently finishing the year off with two larger, manageable groups. I saw a new Kingdom Hall built up the street from my house with a parsonage attached, I saw the Witnesses go to court and admit they have a clergy, I picked up 6 Awake! magazines one afternoon tossed at apartment doors beside the penny shopper, I see Jehovah's Witnesses disassociated from the Watch Tower Bible & Tract Society, and now I see the Governing Body communicating directly with the congregations, not using any of their 100+ corporations set up for that purpose.
Watch Tower Inc is selling Brooklyn properties as fast as the market will allow and Wallkill is already a mega-commune with more construction on the way. The Society used to try to hide their contempt for Jehovah's Witnesses, but not any more! You think they lock those Kingdom Hall doors to keep people from getting in? Ha!

Book cover poll (The Spanking Room)
by WilliamCoburn inplease vote for the cover that you feel best fits my book: the spanking room: a childs eye view of the jehovahs witnesses
my goal is simple: to have a cover and title that tells the reader all of the following: this is a true story of what it was like to grow up as a jehovahs witness with
a father who says jesus is the only way to salvation a mother who says the watchtower society is the only way to salvation and a scared little boy caught in between

Don't make that check out to "Watchtower" anymore!
by JimmyPage inan announcement was made at the meeting about instructions for donations at the district assembly.
instead of making a check out to "watchtower" the instructions are to make it out to "christian congregation of jehovah's witnesses".
most of the r & f didn't give this a second thought but it made my ears perk up.

I imagine the Society is experimenting with setting up new firewalls since every single old firewall they had failed under test. I see the latest letter from headquarters came form the "Governing Body" which is a third party not associated with any of the corporations.
I doubt any of the new ones work either. The Society still has WAY too much control not to be able to tie everything they do to the Watch Tower Pennsylvania corporation. Control = accountability. They wish it didn't, but it does and I doubt they give up much control very soon. Power's an illusion, but the control is real and objective. Especially with all the written correspondence the corporations do.
One of these days the Watch Tower owners are gonna find themselves setting outside on the curb like the Bible Students found themselves in 1917. I think the Society's too greedy to be rational.
