Wow, I wonder if the elders will put this guy on the "Do Not Take' list.
I wonder why they called the police, surely they believe that Jehovah will protect them?

Ortonville man charged after threatening Jehovah's Witness outside store
By SUSAN YOUNGER Staff reporter
LAPEER -- Police suspect an Ortonville man pulled a handgun out of his holster and threatened a Jehovah's Witness who approached his car Monday morning in the parking lot of a Lapeer store.Jeremy Skibo, 36, was arraigned in 71A District Court Tuesday morning on a charge of felonious assault. If convicted, Skibo faces up to four years in prison, said Lapeer County Prosecutor Byron Konschuh.

Problems began about 8:02 a.m. Monday as Skibo sat inside his black, 2003 Toyota in the Home Depot parking lot on Summit Street, in Lapeer. Two Jehovah's Witnesses, both in their 50s, were also in the parking lot on foot. One Jehovah's Witness told Lapeer City Police Lt. David Frisch that he approached Skibo's car, passing in front of his auto so as not to startle him. He handed him a brochure, thought to be a Watchtower magazine, through the partially opened window of his car.
He said that's when Skibo pulled a gun out of his holster, and using profanity, told him to get away from his car. After the incident, Skibo drove away, with the Jehovah's Witness in pursuit, driving a blue Chrysler mini van. The Jehovah's Witness phoned 9-1-1 to report the contended threat. Lapeer County Central Dispatcher Candy Allen put out a "be on the lookout" broadcast to law enforcement to alert them of the Toyota.
Lapeer County Sheriff's Department deputy Jerry Gwyn happened to be filling up his patrol vehicle with fuel at a station near I-69 when he heard the alert. He pulled his car into the median and watched the traffic go by.
"I saw him drive by, and when he didn't even look at me I figured it was the right black Toyota," Gwyn said.
Gwyn pulled him over. He and Michigan State Police trooper Cevin Brown detained Skibo. Frisch arrived and made the arrest.
"He didn't say anything. He said he wanted to speak with an attorney," Frisch said.
Skibo has retained Rochester and Roseville-based attorney Gerald Gordinier. He will appear next in court Friday for a pre-preliminary conference.
He has no previous adult convictions and currently is licensed by Lapeer County to carry a concealed pistol, said Frisch.
It's likely that the Gun Board, made up of members of the Lapeer County Prosecuting Attorney, Lapeer County Sheriff Department and the Michigan State Police Lapeer Post, will take away his concealed pistol permit. Lapeer County Assistant Prosecutor Tom Sparrow is reviewing Skibo's license and will ask for it to be pulled.
"Based on the allegations, a copy of the police report will go to the gun board," Konschuh said. "There can be no felony charges pending."
To obtain a license, applicants must pass a background check, be trained with the gun, pay a fee, and come face to face with the Gun Board. The county was swamped with applications for Concealed Pistol Licenses following an October 2004 amendment to Michigan's July 2001 law, making them easier to obtain.
"We license about 30 to 40 people each month," Sparrow said. "At a guess I believe there are well over 2,000 people in Lapeer County who are licensed."
According to Michigan State Police records, as of May 5, there were 2,371 approved permits in Lapeer County and 164,793 state wide.

jws in persuit? he pulled a gun and drove off and they chased him???
"oi come back, you forgot your magazine!!!"
There are other ways it can be dangerous. Any time you are among moving cars, you are at some risk of getting hit with one of them. That risk goes up if you are approaching a car when you think someone is coming out of the car, but actually they are about to leave the parking lot.
And some will hit you on purpose, for the same reason that they would shoot you (because they do not feel like having those witlesses hounding them to join the cancer).
My dad had my brother and I knocking on strangers doors in dog patch in the dark on school nights every week, standing on city streets on bum's corner selling Watchtowers for a nickle, and approaching all kinds of strangers. He had us out on Christmas morning and even had us cold calling people standing at grave sites in cemeteries on Memorial day.
In my opinion, it's way too dangerous to be walking up to every stranger in any context and kids should never be exposed to these dangers. What did I learn from my experience? My dad was an idiot! We were damn lucky not to have been hurt by his stupidity.
