This is the Kingdom Hall in Sioux Falls at 2020 S Norton. It was built
in the mid 50's. The building was built by Witnesses to look like a
Watchtower. It was later remodeled with a new facade and later still
sold to the Charles Mead group.
`
according to german april issue of our kingdom ministry, the watchtower logo must be removed from all kingdom halls:.
it sais that the watchtower logo - a stylised watchtower or a watchtower with a bible - is used by the watchtower society.
thus, it should not be used by congregations or private persons, neither on kingdom halls, stationary or anything else.

i'm in the market for a new laptop.
i've narrowed my choices down to dell inspiron 1525 or sony vaio fw390.
but i'm not sure which is the better way to go.. the dell has xp (that's a big selling point to me), 15.4 display, intel t4200 2.0ghz, 3gb ram, 320 gb and i've priced it at $950.
I remember reading an interview of Bill Gates on an airplane where he was asked what his favorite computer was and he said: "Whichever one I'm using". So the interviewer asked him which one he was traveling with and he said it was a Sony Vaio.
I had a Dell laptop and they replaced two motherboards in 3 years and a month after the warranty ran out the third motherboard died. So, that's in the dump. I wouldn't buy a Dell no way no how. Sam's had a deal on the Vaio's here but they don't have them right now.
is jehovah's witness an official religion?.
or do you consider yourself a club member of the watchtower society?.
when you fill out paperwork that asks your religion....when you were a witness...how did you describe the name of your religion?.
"Jehovah's Witnesses" is recognized as a religion by many different governments' definitions. The name "Jehovah's Witnesses" is copyrighted, and functions as a Trademark.
By definition, the Watch Tower Society and every sub corporation, is a business. It functions as a business and files taxes as a business. Some of the Watch Tower businesses are: Banking, Insurance, Publishing, Trucking, Construction, Real Estate Speculating, Farming, Event Sponsoring, Auto Leasing, Medical Advise Counseling, Travel, Multi Media, Advertising, Law, and Political Lobbying.
The "Jehovah's Witnesses", claim to be a-political, but really, by profile, the "Jehovah's Witnesses" are a political action group promoting separatism, subversion, and the failure of all (other) political parties and all (other) governments by advocating for the overthrow or ruin of competing governments and associations.
The "Jehovah's Witnesses" actually originated when an (unethical) attorney stole the assets of a Bible commentary publishing business in 1917 and immediately launched the new owner's political agenda which quickly resulted in the directors' being charged with sedition, sent to prison, and the business closed.
The Rutherford owned business after 1917 was never a "religion" but it was a-religious, calling religion a racket and a snare. Knorr changed the Watch Tower Society to a "religion" well after Rutherford's death.
i heard a public talk last week that was all about evolution and how it dishonours god, and it struck me just how out of date and confused many of the ideas presented were.
the speaker used the old example of the giraffe's neck, but made the classic mistake of mixing up darwin's theory of natural selection and lamarckism by poking fun at the idea a neck stretched through use could be passed on to offspring.
i wondered how an otherwise intelligent person (as this speaker is) could make such an elementary mistake.. it occurs to me that the society has been writing less and less against evolution in recent years, so there is less up-to-date ammunition for brothers to draw upon in talks.
Might the Watchtower Society be preparing accept EVOLUTION soon?
IF they did, what would they do with stories of people being born of a virgin, walking on water, and rising from the dead?
In my opinion, a group that relies on smoke and mirrors can't get objective about even one thing due to the principle of equal application of principle. For example, what happens to Eden if selection of species is rational? And if Eden goes, there goes Cain, Lot, Noah, and Abraham too. And if Abraham goes, so does the Exodus, Moses, and Saul. It's a room full of dominoes.
....either from others or yourself?.
were you regularly disappointed when the elders, brothers or sisters didn't measure up to what they were preaching?.
did you actually believe "the truth" was 100% true?.
Did You Expect Perfection From Jehovah's Witnesses?
I expected the virtues of truth, fairness, and honesty, as advertised. Instead, I got lies, tricks, and denials. The first time I tested them as an outsider, they folded up like a $2 suitcase in the rain.

Hmmmmmm! I thought that Jehovah's Witnesses owned the Watch Tower Society. Guess it must be the other way around huh?
my mom, dad, uncles, aunts, and grandparents were all raised catholic.
they were all baptised and married in the catholic church.. one day in the early 1960's,a witness preached to my uncle.
he started a bible study and later had his immediate family join in.
My father's parents. I'm not sure which one of them bit first. They were infected by door to door peddlers. The other dumb thing they did was settle in South Dakota. Why not settle where it's warm? What were they thinking?
"By 1880 there were scores of congregations around the United States . . . "
Hahahaha!!!!!
Very funny!
i have thought about this a lot recently.
as a jw, did/do i really have "beliefs"?.
how can a person have "beleifs" only to turn a page in a magazine - the same mag that tought them what they believe - and now completely change their "beliefs"?.
Do JW's actually have "beliefs"?
No! They are a business. They have policies.
(A policy is a law when it is enforced as if it were a law.)
why hide like i have done something wrong?
i have nothing to be ashamed of.
it is apostate time.. bts.
It's not right to hide from someone who doesn't count.
