Are There ANY Advantages To Being A Jehovah's Witness?I'd have to think that for any person who wants to be ritualistically rude, openly offensive, prolifically unethical, friendless, hopelessly unrealistic, delusional, and without a retirement savings account, Jehovah's Witnesses would be a wonderful environment to sustain those irrational living elements. It's great that there's a group that provides a context for people who willingly advocate to their own detriment.

My first topic on JWN and a pic
by coffee_black ini'm still learning my way around here... thought i'd jump in, so this is a test topic...can't find the feature where you can upload a picture here...so i tried photobucket.
yesterday i conducted a seminar at an architect's office on the 10th floor overlooking boston harbor.
what an amazing view~ if i worked there, i'd never get anything done!

I opened your picture in my browser, right clicked on the picture and selected "copy".
Then I went to the reply window and pasted the picture in the reply text box and clicked "submit".

Sueing the WTBTS
by Watkins indoes anyone know --- has anyone ever successfully sued the wtbts after being disfellowshipped and losing the natural affections of their family, as per wtbts directions to 'shun'?
i guess it would be 'alienation of affection' or something else... i don't know.
i'm lucky to have had no family members in the cult - but i've read horrendous stories of the effects disfellowshipping has had on others - lives effectively ruined by losing mates, children, parents, friends, jobs, homes... suicides, murder/suicide - all devestating results of the cult's edicts.

They only have 2 meetings a week now, so, 2 a week is 100%.
Small price to pay for some broad who'll fart like a plow horse and have an ass a yard wide on her in 10 years. -

My Crazy In-Laws

she has a sister who was inactive for awhile.
the pioneer used to be so concerned about her sister's children dying at armageddon that she literally wanted to adopt her kids so that they would be saved by her righteous standing.. her sister attends meetings again now so perhaps her children will be okay.. god only knows what she'll think about my child when i disassociate..

If one parent is df'd, does that screw the child's chances? I''d think it'd have to.

Why must they be so mean to the children?
by New light for you ini havn't posted in quite a while.. i thought we could move on.. .but my 8 year old is the most incredbly hurt brokenhearted girl by having her life-long friend ripped away by us leaving the organization.
i tried to leave quietly, we're not dfed or anything... but her mother, my former best friend will not let the girls talk.. write.. contact ... period.
my daughter is still crying all the time.

If I had an 8 year old kid, I'd have the same situation . . . except I'd be the one keeping my kid away from the Witnesses. I didn't, and I damn sure wish I had.

The doctrine taught by the Witnesses that includes the concept that minor children are saved by their legal guardian's works righteousness is called "family merit". There's a lot written under that topic for the reading enjoyment of all who will do a CD search.
