  Should A JW Be Allowed To Sue A Hospital For Giving Blood Against His Wishes?

  in connecticut, a jw went to a catholic hospital for an infection on his heel and specifically ordered them not to give him blood.

  evidently, he awoke from his procedure and realized he was receiving blood!

  he began to hysterically cry and the hospital acknowledged they had erred.

  What is the general "mood" these days of Dubs at meetings and assemblies?

  i haven't been inside a kingdom hall since 1998. back then, the change in the 1914 "generation" teaching was still sinking in and the "mood" then was one of confusion and head-scratching about what it all meant.. it is difficult for me to imagine how the "mood" now could be anything other than one of disappointment and doubt...even if it is not openly expressed.. do you think at some point there will be critical mass of doubts (and doubters) that will just start spilling out when dubs realize that others around them feel the same way?.

  as many of you already know, my wife and i left the jws simply because we discovered it was not true.

  we did not commit any sins, and we did not sow seeds of doubt in the congregation.

  in fact, at the last meeting my wife attended, she still fully believed it was the truth.. .

  My suggestion would be to have a PARTY! Now the only decisions left are, where to have the party, and what to cook up. I'd suggest the convention center with the indoor pool and as for food, whole roast goose seems fitting to the occasion.

  Your letter underscores my mistake in dealing with everything I was taught by my parents, as well as everything I learned at the Kingdom Halls and at United States public schools. My childhood trust and gullibility extended way too far into my adulthood. My core beliefs were nothing more than assumptions made by me and given the weight and value of facts.
  
  In the end I realized everything I had learned at home, at church, and in school was wrong. The only thing I kept was the multiplication tables.
  
  The best delusion I got rid of was theism.

  The confusion between Christ "arriving" and "coming" in WT history

  russell started by preaching that christs second coming would be in 1873.. when it didn't happen he published the booklet on how christs second coming would be invisible, based on interpreting parousia as presence - an invisible coming.. the coming in kingdumb power would then happen in 1914 - the master's "arrival".

  based on this the wt claims christ appointed his "slave class" after arriving in 1919.. then the beginning of the invisible presence was upped to 1914 - he arrived invisibly in kingdumb power, but has not returned even invisibly to earth (see "proclaimers" book).

  so his coming still has not happened.
