ten reasons why i never wash. my mother made me wash as a child.
the soap makers only want my money.
there are so many different kinds of soap, i could never decide which one was right.
By golly, I see the light now. Rex, thank you! Your allegorical logic has hit home. I could see myself as the child whose mother made him wash, and relate that to being forced to go to church. Then I saw myself as I am now... never taking a bath (I haven't had one since I left home after high school graduation) and I saw the parallel with not going to church. And the blinders fell away, and I could see. I could SEE.
I'm saved. Praise the lord for sending you, Rex! Thank ya. Thankyaveramuch.

I am sooooooooo not getting it.
i moved to my current location, a house in a quiet, friendly, family-oriented neighborhood, in july of this year.
i've been here five months.
i'm usually home on saturday mornings and sunday afternoons.
Thanks, Marilyn! I'm waiting in hopes. We'll see. I know that with some folks they'll do just as you say, but I'm usually pretty good in a confrontation. I can play verbal ping-pong for a long time. Subtlety is a favorite tool of mine. :)
But just like sex it's over all too quickly - and I'm telling you, you will be left high and dry!!!
Oh, oh, girl... you've been sleeping with the wrong people! ;)

we heard this author speak at a conference last may.
please note randy watters comments & recomendation for this newly released book.
"injustice will continue until those who are not affected by it are as outraged as those who are.
I guess I'm confusing Jim with somebody else. I had the idea that he and Randy Watters were part of the group that used to gather to do bible study without the use of Watchtower articles. Thanks for the clarification.
However, my point was that the statement makes it sound like Jim favorably reviewed the book in 1972 when it was published. He was, in fact, still in the organization at that time and did not publish Apocalypse Delayed, where the recomendation is apparently made, until 1985.
Thus, after a trip to the Watch Tower's Brooklyn, New York, Bethel headquarters in the summer of 1979, Jim decided to write a letter of protest to the Society concerning a number of issues. As a result, an attempt was made to remove him as an elder through the collection of solicited letters against him. Eventually this resulted in Jim's disfellowshipment and a major schism in southern Alberta.

as many may know, i'm still a teenager.
i'm not willing to reveal my age, which is one less than 17 or one more than 15. but i just wanted to get your guys' opinion on sex before marriage.
a lot of people here have kinda lost their "watchtower" and biblical standards as i have gathered.
My unintelligent reply is: F' you.
I have to agree... unintelligent is the word, all right. You should consider holding off f'ing anybody.

I have been in that situation, counting the days until the vistor comes and then breathing a HUGH sigh of relief too many times.
Slow learner?
looking up a lewis carrol (1832-1898) quotation this evening, to prove with logic that logical is the 'evil slav', i think i inadvertently stumbled upon a true watchtower mind.
could carrol have been at least a forerunner of russell?.
the evidence: .
"And hast thou slain the Watchtower?
Come to my arms, my beamish boy.
O frabjous day! Callou! Callay!"
he chortled in his joy.
what was the most hypocritical act you personally witnessed during your incarceration as a jw?.
hypocritical acts you witnessed being performed by those claiming to be of the anointed are most especially welcome to be posted.. the person who posts the most hypocritical act will receive the complete box set of the bethel family sing the kingdom melodies vols 1 - 10 complete as first prize.. the runner up will receive two box sets.. i'll start off.. the most hypocritical thing i ever witnessed was the (married) co who ran off with the (single) special pioneer immediately after giving a talk at the district convention on "jehovahs gift of marriage".. sister special had the suitcases packed and the motor running out in the parking lot (located directly behind the platform) as co spiritual giant wrapped up his talk.
he finishes the talk then leaves the platform for the getaway car to a tumultuos round of applause from the massive crowd.. both last sighted somewhere slightly up ahead of a fading into the distance cloud of dust.. goo
When I disassociated, I didn't realize at the time that it was due to the inner disturbance from massive cognitive dissonance. I just thought I had a really bad spiritual problem. So I kept trying to get the elders to help me, which annoyed the hell out of them. We would make agreements to meet and they wouldn't show. Or, a lone elder would talk with me and we would agree there were things that could be done better, and then he would get with the body as a whole and sit there silent while they condemned me.
So, after I left, my wife was talking to this one elder about what might have been done to "save me". He said, "Well, I never had much hope for him anyway."
Mommie Dark: bondage is probably a lot more common than anybody openly admits, but... a three-month collection of used rubbers? Eewww. This dude is seriously sick.
