  Those With JW Spouses - How are you Coping ? Any experiences ?

  i wanted to address the folks on board here who really have a challenge on their hands.

  and i feel it's good for us to acknowledge the great job many of them are accomplishing with the pressures they have on them living with a spouse in a mind control cult.

  i know it would be so easy sometimes for some in that position to say , " the hell with it !

  HI MR Flipper,

  My situation is fairly well known here, and i have sadly decided to call it a day. My wife is a lovely lady, we sadly have less and less in common since i left.

  The elders are are telling her i may spiritually endanger her, as although i do not impose my viiews i do disgiuse them either, another complication

  We are blessed with three bright lovely chilldren, but we, my wife and i connect less and less so for me it is time to move on. Fortunately money will not be a source of conflict.

  11-yr old wants to get baptized, father objects, elders interfere

  the mother went to the elders when the dad objected to the girl getting baptized.

  this prompted a visit from the elders who counselled him for wanting to hold his child back from baptism.

  this girl is immature even for an 11-year old.

  I am in the same postion with my 15 y daughter, i have long since stopped goig to meetings, my daughter wants to get baptised, and i registered my objection, Well the elders came round for the first time in years. I told them that she is not old enough to drink, vote, drive, go to war or marry, how on earth could she then be expected to be mature enough to make the most important decision of her life and get baptised i asked? They very reluctantly had to agree

  do the jw's still consider stevie nicks from fleetwood mac to be a pagan witch-type?

  i picked out the song "landslide" for my mother's funeral about a month ago, which most of my extended family, jw's one and all, attended.

  it didn't even cross my mind when i selected the song, my mom just had always liked it.

  Do you believe that a woman has to be married to be happy?

  i'm just wondering because i was raised to believe that a woman should get married and have children.

  i think that this is an out-dated philosophy and that girls shouldn't be taught that they have to be in a marriage to be complete.

  I do not think so per se, but to be in a warm loving relationship is a wonderful thing irrespective of gender or sexuality.,

  Marriage in the Uk does confer certain rights upon both parties , but happiness is not a right .
