This is right on the heels of a decision made
by the highest British court that Sharia law is legal for resolving disputes between muslims in britain
And which High Court decision would this be?
The Archbishop of Canterbury has made certain musings which have been roundly denounced, quite rightly imo.
Islam is anachronistic, homophphobic and misogynst, and should be denoiunced as such. We in the UK would not allow Sharia Law to insinuate itself in any form

have you ever wondered what happened to the 56 men who signed the declaration of independence?.
five were imprisoned by the british as traitors and tortured before they died.. twelve had their homes ransacked and burned.. two lost their sons serving in the revolutionary army; another had two sons captured.. nine of the 56 fought and died from wounds or hardships of the revolutionary war.. they signed and they pledged their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor.. what kind of men were they?.
twenty-four were lawyers and jurists.
Just as an aside please do not allow history to colour your judgement of Britain and us Brits, We tend to like the US are not anti US.

coming to terms with the truth about "the truth" is the most painful thing i've been through to date.
i've lost people i love in death (thankfully not a child though).
i've not experienced a divorce.
I found it very liberating in the end, though having close family members still in comlpicates things a bit

i've found this place a really good outlet and place to learn and share for quite a while.
the number of posts doesn't really matter... but the freedom to speak one's mind and to perhaps share ideas that might help others get past the jw experience .. that does matter!.

[this is the letter i wrote in december, 2005 to my po just before i confronted all my doubts.
the infamous article bashing higher education had just come out and i was having a hard time making sense of everything.
i was still a ministerial servant, and it just pushed me over the edge.
