  On growing up, having a spine and being dishonest

  i read the last two posts on my previous thread last night and i thought about posting, but to be honest i found them hurtful and i was angry enough that my post would have been very harsh, so i took a step back and figured i could let it go until today when i wouldnt feel the need to really say what im thinking about the previous posts.. purplesofa, the bible study was actually a walk in the park, we went out to lunch and just talked about the economy, obama and saving money, we went over maybe five paragraphs in the new book and that was that, all i did was recite the answers straight from the book.

  as to why i went to the meeting, well what can i say?

  im like super interested in becoming a pioneer and maybe going to bethel!.

  Looking after those you care about without looking for reward is the mark of a true friend. Accepting that we are responsible for actions is the part of growing up too.

  I, along with others, am caring for my elderly mum in law at the moment - she is lovely , but her hubbie, who she adores, is not easy to get along with. If we are looking for anything else other than friendship it is akin to a a contract.

  We all know that what the wts is about control, which is why we have gratefully moved on.

  Sychelles Island crash proved you can't land a plane on water!

  i was an advocate of the idea that a sea landing is beyond impossible for any pilot.

  some years ago terrorists hijack a plane in africa and demand to be flown to australia.

  the pilot runs out of fuel at the sychelles islands and ditches in the sea with most passengers dead or drowned.

  I am not an expert in aviation but do not most aircraft prior to landing "flare " that is make the plane "nose up" ?

  . In the UK recently we had a Boeing 777 lose power in both Engines on final approach to Heathrow, the pilot glided the Aircraft down and landed just after the threshold. This was also like the landing on the Hudson, an amazing piece of airmanship, as anyone who has been to Heathrow knows, the margin for error is very small, get it wrong and there would have been hundreds of casualties on the aircraft and on the ground.

  The pilot of both these airplanes were a testament to their good training and great skill

  I was called by on two elders recently by they said we have not seen you for a while and was concerned about you, i said no you are not. They then said we are your friends, i told them my friends would not leave it weeks let alone years without contacting me, after all they are true friends.. .

  The reasons for the call became clear later. I had no problem with their calling, just that they were disingenuous.

  Any Vegans on the Board?

  my new year's resolution is to make the lifestyle change to the vegan-pure vegetarian diet: no animal derived foods.. it is a change i have considered before on different occasions.

  i didn't stick with the diet in the past due to lack of information, or perhaps the abundance of misinformation available on the optimum diet.

  i've never been grossly overweight, probably never over 170 lbs.

  Btw the biggest mistake people of all dietary proclivities tend to make, is to not enjoy the food for what it is, something experiential.

  Some of my most lucid memories involve food. I can remember eating a juicy sweet nectarine in SW France. the sweet juice running down my cheeks as i ate it. Then eating wonderful, perfectly cooked pasta on the side of Lake Garda - Italy. Food is more than a fuel, it should and can be memorable too.

  The reason for the moon appearing bigger tonight is, as i understand it , is that the moon is at a close point in it's orbit to the earth. The orbit is elliptical so therefore is appearance in size varies with the progression of its orbit.

  I am a lifelong vegetarian, only having never liked fish at all and meat in hardly at all. I just do like the taste, i am 6'4" in tall and so far very healthy. If i am ill, which is thankfully rare, i get over it quickly. My point therefore is, it is possible to be a vegetarian and remain very healthy.

  I know a bit about second class protein's and first. but i think the key to a good diet is a variety foods, ( in my case without meat and fish) and good quality food.

  Thanks for all your comments. This clip is humour at it's best, challenging, provocative, and very funny. It makes people think and laugh, and it works on so many levels. The clip is taken from the film bedazzled which is rarely shown, and certainly worth looking up.

  Peter Cooke plays the Devil, and Dudley Moore is his foil, an ' innocent abroad'. The script is brilliant imo, played by two comedians at the peek of their powers.

  Sad to think both have since died, but this film a great celebration of their talent and wit.
