  Anyone wanna place a bet on what will happen to me when I have to go to the Kingdom Hall this Saturday??

  well since there is no "betting" (as it reeks of gambling) in jdub land, lets place a friendly wager on what will happen to me when i go to my father's "memorial" service at the kingdome hall this saturday..... to give you newbies background info: i am neither df'd or da'd- i left 2 years ago with no explanation.

  i have been hounded by elders in my cong because they have suspicions that i am living with a man, but they have no proof (well, no proof in jdub land- you know...two witness rule).

  after many attempts to get me to meet with them- i finally sent the elders a "cease & desist" letter after one of them spied in my miniblinds to see me eating breakfast with someone (they couldn't identify who).

  I wouldn't go. I'd set up a celebration of his life for those who loved him....restaurant...bar....your house and don't invite the JWs.

  I have just left my parents home and the JW's about six months ago and have found it hard to get over.

  i finally desided to leave the witnesses therefore my family and basicly everyone and everything i had ever known.

  i was 19 about to be 20 and i had just finished my first semester at a community college.

  i was shocked at the respons of my father and others about me attending college at first they were ok but behind my back they were pretty much betting on my failier.

  i must have been dozing off during the part in question, but after the sessions someone told me that in the question and answer segment with the speaker from bethel, they said that there have been anointed ones all throughout history, and that in the new world their names will be read from a list.

  Waking Up From a 34 Year Slumber.

  july 11, 2011 will be 34 years since i was baptised as one of jw's.

  the sleeping pill i took was in the form of them providing the information that made the bible come alive with the truth and insisting that they go by the bible not adding or taking away from it.

  i had negative experiences from local brothers from time to time, however i excused them as part of being imperfect.

  Welcome! It's funny how one thing will wake someone up and a thousand others don't even hear it. Good for you. I left after 36yrs. I recommend that like in a divorce, don't do anything drastic for a year. I ended up attending Unitarian Universalist. I can't deal with dogma or patriarchial crap anymore. Go out and live a great life and apprecate this beautiful planet and find great people to embrace. You won't be sorry. Welcome to life.
