My heart goes out for you. The borg made him dead before his demise. His death is so final in that the hope of reconciliation can never be achieved. What a horrible thing this group does.

My JW Elder Brother Passed Away
by minimus inhe was basically a good man, just a believer in the religion.
when we were both elders we were best of friends and then things deteriorated when i was not an elder for a while.
then after becoming an elder again, i slowly drifted away from the religion and he drifted further away from me.

Mexican drug lord El Chapo personally killed 4 Witnesses in the 80's
by Richard_I inus prosecutors are reportedly considering charging 'el chapo' guzman with the killings of 6 us citizens and a dea agent.
"the first killings came on december 2, 1984, when four jehovah's witness missionaries, two men and two women, knocked on the door of a drug lord.
godoy, who was then also working as a body guard for ernesto fonseca, another guadalajara kingpin, said the missionaries were tortured and the women raped.

Closure and the death of JW family/friends
by dubstepped ina few threads recently made me think of how cruel jehovah's witnesses are in shunning around death.
i don't have much experience with death.
i lost my non-jw grandpa when i was 12 (?

I recommend that those of you who are barred from your families memorials, have your own. Do it the way that brings closure (if that's possible) and peace of mind. Invite those who shun you. Send them a certified letter about your love for that person and how you will miss them. This whole shunning even after death is the most cruel, evil thing a human can do to another.

I use it less and I don't take quizzes anymore. Any story that asks for another click is gone. I just do less. I'm mad it has been misused......kind of like religion.

Do you miss that initial "high" ??
by stuckinarut2 indo you remember the first time you found out "the truth about the truth"?.
yes, it was confronting, shocking and life altering.
yes it was hard to deal with.. but, along with that, many have said that they experienced a sense of thrill, euphoria, or joy when realising the facts about the religion that held us captive mentally and physically for so long.. it was liberating to learn some of the controversial teachings etc.

It was not a high. It was a shock. It made me question what else do I believe that is totally wrong.

The first scripture my mother made me learn was Gen. 3:15 which she said is the whole story of the Bible in one scripture.

WT rules about forgiving a cheating mate
by Addison0998 ini hate the rule about if your mate cheats on you, and you have sex with them, you are not free to remarry because the sex means you forgave them and keeps you stuck with them!
i personally disagree and think it’s so controlling that they think they can dictate what goes on behind closed doors between two consenting, legally married married people.
and that they think they have the right to label what other people’s sex means.

It's weird that they don't inform you of this in their canned wedding talks. (Do they still say if your husband has sex with men....it's not adultery because there is no chance of pregnancy?)

So, I am having lunch with a group of women with varying backgrounds. I asked the circle how many believed in the story of Adam and Eve and the snake. No one believed it literally. An allegory. Stolen story from older religions. I remarked that I realized I no longer believed in it and therefor no longer believed in the Ransom Sacrifice of Christ. Not one of them had ever heard the term Ransom in connection with Christ. I was pretty shocked. So Ransom is a JW thing?
