A fair and reasonable question for Jehovah's Witnesses

your organization has always been intently focused on "witnessing" and this includes going right up to strangers homes, knocking on their door attempting to engage them in a discussion of their beliefs.

you come prepared to point out the error of whatever faith they hold.

doctrines such as immortality of the soul, the trinity and eternal torment in hell you declare as false teachings and can back up your assertions with scriptures and skilled argument.

so i read everyone's posts and get to know the screen names of all of you on jwd and have this picture in my head of what those of you who dont have real photos of yourselves as avatars, and i wonder how wrong i would be if i were to meet any of you in person... so my question is this - what do you think i look like?

What was the real reason why you joined the 'truth'?

if you came out of the world (like myself), what was the main motivation why you joined/got baptised?.

was you genuinely disillusioned with the world and all of its badness and wanted real answers to why it was so?.

was you honestly convinced the world would one day be made into a paradise and wanted to be part of it?.

Was looking for "something" but did not know exactly what.

Looking at the world around me, I knew there had to be something better.

They seemed genuine. They seemed to have all the answers.

The notion of "paradise" did not particularly attract me. But I was only too happy to believe that one day, the world would live in harmony.

The surface was shiny bright...until I started finding dust bunnies around the corners:-(

Small dog owners...please take note

we just had a horrible episode in our back yard.

as most of you know i have two warlock dobermans.

they are very large and powerful.

I know its horrible but these boys are princes in my eyes.

Not at all!!!

Most pet owners consider their pets almost like their children. And losing a pet is almost like losing a family member and usually brings much pain.

I had a cat for some 15 years, and she sure was a "princess" in my eyes:-)
