For some posters, being abusive is probably the only feeling of superiority they ever get.

Does Debating Have to Be Abusive - To Be Effective ?
by flipper inmy wife and i were having an interesting discussion about some of the debates that take place on the board here .
now, granted most people , i feel upwards of 90 % on the board maybe higher try to be respectful in their debates or discussions on topics.
i think we all had enough bashing in the witness organization.

Does the Watchtower know more than Jesus?
by JH inthe watchtower, with all the years they predicted the end, and all the years they said something invisible happened up there in heaven, do they know more than jesus, who said, "only my father in heaven knows"...

YOUR DAILY JOURNAL
by compound complex indear friends,.
much of what we do on a daily basis is routine and of no particular, earth-shaking importance.
however, after reviewing letters of family going back to wwii, it is fascinating to read what dad was doing on board the aircraft carrier in the pacific on any old day, what mom was cooking on her ever-steaming range, how i was dealing with the roller coaster of emotion at bethel [mom saved all my letters], how nana wrote that she would not study with the witnesses [per my request] but 'here are some mittens i knitted for you when you canvass new york with your magazines.

Dear Journal...
It is really true that life is what happens while you're busy making other plans.
Just as I was so motivated and doing so well with my New Year intentions...back to gym, back to yoga class, and what-not. I go for a 'follow-up' doctor appointment this morning and it all falls apart. I know that many on this forum have serious health problems. And I am most certainly NOT trying to minimise their situation. It's just that at this early stage, "my" problem is the centre of "my" universe:-( -

Dear Journal...
I have nothing of interest to say lately.
Then again, do I ever have anything of interest to say?
In any case, thank you for being here.

MINCAN needs some LOVE and SUPPORT
by AWAKE&WATCHING inmincan has relatives visiting this week-end.
he is happy to see them but knows the problems associated with their visit will be hard to deal with.
you see, these relatives don't understand how difficult it is to come out of the cult and move on.

(((Hang in there, Mincan)))
You are not alone. Many on this board have, or are still dealing with similar situations.
One day at a time...you can do it.

Looks like quite the storm you had!
It scares me when Nature has a temper tantrum. Makes one feel so small and helpless.
In any case, comforting to read that quiet and calm have returned:-) -

Do you still have faith in humanity?
by lfcviking injust yesterday at the airport i dropped my wallet coming out of a shop and a very kind man picked it up and ran up to me and asked "excuse me is this yours?
" to which i gave a startled but relieved reply of "yes, thankyou very much!"..
i was amazed by his honesty & kindness for doing this deed and wondered for a moment what would have happened if he'd have put it in his pocket instead.

There are lots of good, generous, honest, compassionate people in this world.
It is most obvious when a major disaster happens. People from all over the world rally to help those in need.
Unfortunately, on a daily basis, it is the bad ones who get the spotlight and make the news.
Yes, I have faith in humanity. In the end, good always prevails even if it does not always seem that way.

Is it a good thing to look for fault in everything the borg does?
For some, it unfortunately reaches the point of obsession.
Are we clutching at straws sometimes in our efforts to strengthen our fight and fuel our anger?
Sometimes.
