I agree with a few posters...
I see it as dishonest and disrespectful.
Being loving and non-judgmental are much better ways to make a point.
Kinda preaching by example...
now i know lots of people here the last place they would want to be as at the kingdom hall, and i'm not claiming what i am about to say is a good or bad idea.
but, what would happen if a large number of people visited a neighboring congregation and partook of the emblems?
let's say an extra 10,000 partook.

"the truth--why the core beliefs and doctrines of the wtbts will never change" by the gb of jehovah's witnesses.
also, on the lighter side..... " how i invented the internet, why i will not debate global warming, and other musings of an ex vice president" by albert gore, jr.. and, finally, for you young ones.... "teenage chastity for dummies" by jamie lynn spears .
"My years as the best President of the USA"
George Bush
i don't feel comfortable living as an atheist.
i believe the world is far to complex and humans are too incredible to have just occurred.
therefore, if i was to attend a church, which one should i consider?
Instead of looking for a church, why don't you pick up your Bible and try to convince yourself of God.
Why put your soul into the hands of men?
The light is in you.
Good luck
the day here is bright and sunny, the snow is white and sparkling in the sunshine.
we have a huge maple tree overhanging the back deck.
i looked outside and the sun is melting the snow from the tree branches.
Nice to read your part of the world is having such a beautiful day:-)
The sun is such a great mood enhancer. Enjoy!
i hated mine.. long story.. don't ask.. just glad it's over and glad stores are open again.
.
i always feel isolated and 'insecure' when civilization has ground to a halt because of a holiday.. i'm just ranting, need the stress relief.. hope your holidays were alot better than mine.. i am not looking for pity here, just needed to rant, thanks for listening.. .
I am glad it's over only because I am a terrible creature of habit. Yesterday felt like a Sunday all day. And even today, my internal compass is not doing too much better. Can hardly wait to get back to the routine:-)
But it was nice to serve Christmas dinner
And it will be nice to eat turkey leftovers until the next Christmas
OK...time to concoct that turkey soup now. Why don't you come over for a bowl, Eclipse? Soup is good food...warms up body and soul*
sad story at the sf zoo.
a beautiful siberian tiger escapes, kills one man and mauls two others.
then is shot and killed by police.
Zoos also make me feel down. Animals should not live in cages. Not too mention the "behind the scenes" mistreatment and abuse that happen only too often.
No matter how this tiger managed to escape its enclosure...instinct and nature simply took over. Sad:-(
christmas is the time to talk about peace.
jesus is called the prince of peace.. john lennon and yoko ono put out posters that read "war is over - if you want it".. peace doesn't depend on scientific progress.
it certainly doesn't take prosperity and riches to have peace.
Yes, John Lennon & Yoko Ono put out posters that read "War is over - if you want it"
But John Lennon also composed his beautiful "Imagine" telling the world that peace is so much more than the absence of war.
War can rage in the world...but it can also rage in families and hearts. JWs do not kill their neighbors in war and they would rather die than kill. But in the same breath, they turn around and shun anyone who does not share the same beliefs. Is this what the Prince of Peace is all about???
Why don't people harangue the millions of so called christians that carry on war contrary to their claimed leader Jesus Christ.
Is this your idea of peace??? Leaving the poor "peace loving" JWs alone and go after the rest of the world??? If so, perhaps you should re-consider your definition of peace.
Jehovah's Witnesses don't celebrate Christmas but they have the PEACE the world dreams about at Christmas.
How I wish this was the real scenario! But I am afraid it is far from reality.

iam now as what was announced at a recent meeting that iam "no longer a jehovah's witness" all of my family and friends are witnesses so this will ailenate me from all of my friends and family.
but i feel like i don't want to go back.
i really hate the feeling of isolation and shamefulness while iam sitting in the meeting, what's the point of it all.
Welcome to the board, Lady...
You will find comfort and understanding here:-)
