The UN is on the verge of banning religion - JWs favorite rumor
by VM44 inthe un is on the verge of banning religion.. why is this rumor constantly being brought up by the jws?.
the un does not have the power to ban religion, such an act would go against its very charter and its declaration of human rights.. many of the member nations are islamic and would never vote to ban religion as it would undermine their own very existence.. so the idea that the un would or could ban or even consider banning religion is unrealistic.
never going to happen.. but the jws have been whispering that "the un is going to ban religion" for decades....why?

Joshua 10:13 Says -Is not this written in the book of Jasher?
2 Samual 1:18 Also mentions a book of jasher.
2 Chronicles 9:29 Says- Now the rest of the acts of solomon first and last are they not written in the book of Nathan the prophet and in the prophecy of ahijah the shilonate and in the visions of iddo the seer.
What has happened to these books and prophets and what prophecies did they contain?
Also I have considered whether the book of Enoch was originally included in scripture a clue to this seems to be in whats said in the book of jude at the end of the bible.
Jude verse 14 - And Enoch also the seventh from Adam prophesied of these saying Behold the lord comes with ten thousands of his saints [ kj version].
It clearly says that Enoch prophesied of these things but there is no prophesies of Enoch accounted for in scripture. And also how would Jude in the 1st century have known Enochs prophesies if they didnt use The book of Enoch?
There are some good sources on line to reasearch The book of Enoch.
As for the watchtower they dont mention anything about these things.

Field Service Antics ...
by writetoknow indo you remember all the munipulation and antics witnesses use to get out of actually going to the door and talking to people about the bible?.
i only bring this up because in another thread i posted someone made the assertion that if witnesses voted as a group they would change the election.
it like saying the witnesses go to every door in the world with the good news and their the only group doing the work!.

Me and my friend would often do some ministry and then half way through say " right were off to macdonalds ".If looks would kill ! That was best bit of the ministry going to macdonalds .
We would leave everyone out on field circus and just take off.

Does the watchtower need to loosen up
by jacethespace indo most jehovahs witnesses have a problem with having a sense of humor?or should i say a lack of it?.
i had an intresting experience a while back ive been thinking about after not going to meetings for a number of months and developing my own " independant thinking" and breaking from watchtower control.. i met with an elder at home and had a chat with him and during the conversation i commented on a funny cartoon sketch i saw about religion.he laughed with that strange programmed laughter i noticed before in the tower and then made a comment which got me really suspicous , he said " yeah we have got a sense of humor in the truth as well and can have a laugh".i remember thinking he had said that after encountering something that he found alien to the truth.from me and my own independant thinking seprate from watchtower control.. was really strange the way it was said like he had noticed something good in me thats not in the watchtower and tried to justify himself to convince himself it was nothing.. its things like that that make me sit up and question the watchtower.. and one of my friends in the tower that has been in all his life hes in his forties and i have always found him quite funny beacause he has like this rebelious attitude about him that seems to go against the tower.hes always looking for an excuse to have a party and have fun and get people together in the cong.and for this people say about him that hes on the edge of the truth.actually they just dont have a sense of humor and seem to be anti life.why?.

Was really strange the way it was said like he had noticed something good in me thats not in the watchtower and tried to justify himself to convince himself it was nothing.
Its things like that that make me sit up and question the watchtower.
And one of my friends in the tower that has been in all his life hes in his forties and i have always found him quite funny beacause he has like this rebelious attitude about him that seems to go against the tower.Hes always looking for an excuse to have a party and have fun and get people together in the cong. And for this people say about him that hes on the edge of the truth.Actually they just dont have a sense of humor and seem to be anti life. Why?

Things You HATED About Being a JW
by minimus inthere were a few things that i hated about being a witness.. i love music and live concerts.
quite often i'd have to play my music privately or hide an album cover for fear it might "stumble" someone.
i hated worrying whether someone was going to somehow get "stumbled.. regarding going to concerts, it seemed that certain artists only came to town on a meeting night and i'd miss the shows.. what did you hate about being a jehovah's witness?.

Oh yeah feeling like i was being constantly judged by others in the cong esp cause of being young and wanting a life and desires.Totally anti life i think they are now.

Hated having no time and running from work to meetings and ministry.
All that crap about it being wrong to flirt with opposite sex and me thinking well how do you have a relationship then with no flirting.
The arrogant self rightousness that seemed to be in the tower.
Those boring kingdom songs.
For me personally [ was this the same for others?] my congregation was filled with mainly elderly people and i often thought to myself> What am i doing sitting here rather than mixing with people my own age.

Adams wife before Eve
by LouBelle ini was watching something rather interesting on the history channel last night with regards to lost scrolls, scrolls that hadn't been included in the bible.
there were three characters that stood out for me.. lillith - she is only mentioned once in scripture - isaiah 34: 14 - some versions may be different.
wildcats shall meet with hyenas, goat-demons shall call to each other; there too lilith shall repose, and find a place to rest.

A little research into the hebrew word for Man and Adam in the old testament is intresting.
The hebrew word for both Adam and man at the beggining of the bible at least is aw -dawm.
Makes me wonder whether Adam was his actual name.
