just wanted to pose the question to the group and see what the general opinion is vs what the wt may have claimed in other cases.. we all know that they have argued over clergy privilege when elder learn of a crime but keep quiet about it.
regardless of what one may feel about this, lets assume for a minute that they are correct.. all elders are directed to contact the branch when they learn of a case of child abuse.
would the conversation between the elder and the branch be considered under the "clergy privilege"?
If someone confesses to an Elder and they form a J.C does this not negate their rite to "Ecclestical Privilege"?
My understanding is it is only bettween the Clergy they confessed to and the confesser not 2 other Elders and the service dept and whoever else knows??
I live in a Commonwealth country and our laws are mostly from the British legal system and to the best of my knowledge this is the case.

so what if some members of the governing body have been accused of molesting a child and used the 2 witness rule to silence a accusation?
so could it be that because some high up watchtower corporation person/persons has clung to the rule because it save's his corporate ass.
These baseless allegations just give active JWs who may visit this forum more ammunition.

cardinal george pell will return to court in a fortnight ,he has been committed to stand trial relating to multiple complainants .. magistrate belinda wallington struck out about half the charges including the most serious of them .. cardinall george pell denies all charges against him.. the world media is watching the outcome of this trial he is the most senior member of the vatican to be charged with such an offence and by, all people , australians who have conducted their own arc into institutionalized child sexual abuse of children .. we wait with baited breath ( for a just outcome ) in all of these investigations ..
As much as i have no time for the catholic church i take my hat of to Pope francis for telling him to go back to Australia and face trial.
Cardinal Pell was in the Vatican and it's a sovereign state so the Pope could have let him stay there indefinitey.
There seems to be alot of evidence against him ut he will have a platoon of smart as lawyers and appeals if he is found guilty.

last week in the sunday meeting a sister made a comment and collapsed, a massive heart attack.
one of the young brothers is a fireman and he gave her mouth mouth and according to the doctor this saved her life.
so if she had missed the meeting that day she would have surly died because her husband is not in great health.
A K.H in Austraila had a bomb that was planted inside it went off and killed a few people.
So if they had not gone to the meeting they may well be here today.

my two biggest stupidest ones i think are, “ we can really tell the end is almost here with the way people drive on the highway.” and a girl who said she wants to hurry up and marry her boyfriend because she’s scared if the end comes before their married, she’ll have to wait 1000 years to marry him.
oh and also a poor old lady saying that she hopes jehovah wipes away the memory of her disfellowshipped sons that he will have to destroy.

the 25th april is the day australia and new zealand remember their war dead.. on the 25th april 1915 troops from many nations including australian and new zealanders landed on the shores of turkey.
the anzac forces at a place called gallipoli or galliboli by the turkish people.. the concept was to land move inland attack constantinople and there by force turkey out of the war (1914-1918) and bring it too a swift end.
the whole operation was a monumental stuff up with the anzacs being landed in the wrong place up against steep cliffs.
My grandchildren goto the ANZAC parade wearing my fathers WW2 medals.

in 1991 we build a 250 seat hall and had 125 publishers so about 175 in attendance and filing fast.. just spoke to someone from my old congregation they now have 50 to 60 publishers and 100 in attendance on a good day.. very few pioneers.. seems this is happening everywhere.. karter..
This is an area were alot of young families live due to it being on the outskirts of the city.
I think at least 70% of the young ones have bailed.
