... for a week and a half trip.. i am such a jerk that i gave her a really hard time about it.. it's hard for me to take care of the kids alone and do everything she does.. oh well!.

Let me just give a little advice. If your wife is like me, at home with 3 kids ALL THE TIME, she not only needs a break but she will want to hear you say, (please quote me) "Honey I don't know how you do it. You make it look easy. Thank you so much for taking such good care of us." And she in turn should be thankful you are taking care of it all while she's gone.

I went to NYC for 3 days and when I got back I so wanted to hear my hubby acknowledge how hard it is, tell me I'm doing great. Didn't happen. But I do think he understands why I drink so much!

How would you respond to the elders?

id like to help metaspy and others out on helping them overcome the manipulative language of the society.

when it happens, we have no time to come back with a snappy answer.

but maybe we can help in the future how the manipulative language is wrong, and how to clear the destructive fog (fear obligation guilt) in our heads.. do you think my retorts would help?

I think your retorts are great. I don't have any to add. Unfortunately I found the one time I tried to have a normal discussion about it, all my info fell on deaf ears. I then realized, I am an adult, have been for some time. My family made a decision that we are very happy with. I never left Jehovah just an organization led by men I no longer trust or feel comfortable obeying.

I know everyone is different. My sister, for example, wants to explain why in her letter of DA. But I feel comfortable saying taking me off your membership list. Strange, because I am usually a big mouth!

You've got a great idea and it's kind of you to start this thread to help.

The Black/African American Perspective on the Watchtower Organization

i was wondering if anybody has some input/suggestions on their feelings of blacks/a.a (no offences to ppl who are white and born in s.african or anything of that nature.

ok in xocos case i'm h***an/american (born in the us) and i grew up in a predominantly h****an kh so mostly black and few european ppl/decent that spoke the francophone lang (*hint,hint*) i've never knew what it was like to be in a predominantly caucasian kh (4 that 1 year i was living in the bible belt of fl,us).

it was different and ppl were mesmerized by the way i acted compared to other a.a. jw around their near by khs.

My sister was married to a wonderful black man for 3 years. But here in TN they had issues. My sister would want to kick butt but he was (sadly) used to it. When we were all sitting at his bedside his mom said that things really hadn't changed much than when he was young. But in the hall he was one of the most respected elders and the most caring. It's been a year and we still miss him.
