Each time we're together, I'm struck by how critical they are of the organization, its elder bodies, and of the general tactics of the rank and file members who are busy plucking the specks from the eyes of others while ignoring their own rafters.

I noticed this, too, as long I was somehow considered 'in'. But when I was 'out' they started to play theater to me, too. They are critical as long they do not really consider you an enemy. If do, they start showing you 'the best people on earth'.

Who'll be left to carry on the hard line, convoluted behavior-Nazi regime?

The WTS has already started to breed their new hard-liners in the school for unmarries servants (have forgotten the name).

In 10 years, there will still be people who want a strict religion and that do not know or care about the past.

I have a gut feeling that there is something behind that. It took a long time until they released the theme. They have recently changed the "annointed" tenet. It might be that they change it now to everybody being sprititual annointed.

Most Comprehensive Work on JW in Nazi-Germany now in English

the thesis of german historian detlef garbe on jw in the third reich now becomes also available in english.

to me this is still the best in-depth analysis of the jw history in nazi-germany.

despite the watchtower's attempt to exploit him he remained neutral and also made some critical notes at stand firm-exhibitions.

Garbe worked out the first edition (which I own) without any support of the WTS because they rejected any research which he lamented about.

When WT-policy changed in the 1990 they gave Garbe access to their history archives which also reflects in later editions (it is published fourth printing now, with the third and fourth being identical). He mentions almost everything including the letter to Hitler but he does not only quote the yearbook but also refers to the actual letter and states that the "Declaration of Facts" was done by Rutherford in English and the letter was obviously done by Balzereit (because the Original was German and a translation was sent to the US).

Translation of Garbe's book was done by a woman by the name Dagmar G. Grimm, a German who lives in the US now. From the description I tend to assume she is a JW. The book is published by the University of Wisconsin and supported by the Holocaust Memorial Museum.

In some cases, Garbe has a different point of view as Penton who is more anti-Watchtower.

I do not believe in horoscope. I expected some vague expressions that somehow fit anybody at times. This came up very precise and it is very much what comes up when I do a scientific test like MBTI. Strange. But there are also two things in it that are not correct.

there has been some rumour that the growth in most developed countries comes from imigrants.

while this has been stated by cos and dos it is now official in germany.

the kingdom ministry for february 2008 states that in germany there are 36,000 foreign publishers in 531 congregations und 272 groups.

There are currently almost 1,500 members on the board. Some speak English. Mineralogist is also active here as is '+'. I think there are some others. Blondie has made some posts on the German board. I am not too fluent in English. For example, I do not have a clue what a Merck is, apart from the pharmaceutical company. ;-)
