Guards at Stadium Conventions during Song and Prayer

when did the wt start having guards come out during the song and prayer at stadium conventions?

i noticed this at a convention in san diego, right before the song begins, a bunch of "brothers" come out and stand at key positions facing the seats, and scan the audience!

they remain until after the prayer, and they do not bow their heads during the prayer, but keep scanning the audience.

in here you ask an amount of questions in addition to your previous letter from 5 november 2001 and our reactions on it in our letter from 8 november 2001. .

Ex-elders: did you ever confront anyone on FAKE HOURS

a few recent threads have been about faking hours in field service reports (for example, this one: http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/72429/1.ashx).

a number of posters said they would never actually go in service, but still magically get in their hours each month.

my question to you ex-elders: did you ever confront someone on this?

My father told me this story about the time when he was an Elder: the BOE discussed appointing a young pioneer as a ministerial servant. One Elder was strongly against that. One of the charges he made was that this pioneer faked his time report.

When the CO investigated he found out that the pioneer had a timetable that started very early at the railway station. The CO returned to the local elders and said he found no basis for that accusation. Still, the one Elder was strongly against making this pioneer a MS. He even wrote to the Branch Office about that. He even went to the pioneer and demanded that he declined if offered the MS position!

My father was pissed because the son-in-law of a very prominent local Elder was made an Elder with an average of 2 hours a month!

This went on for months and the CO switched. The new CO supported the Elder who was against the appointment. The whole thing ended with the pioneer changing the congregation (I wonder if he is still active) and with my father's stepping aside as an Elder. He literally threw his flock-book onto the COs table and said: "This behavior is satanic." He wrote several letters to the Branch but was always directed to the local BOE. Those refused to answer his questions. So he ceased to attend meetings.

He has never found out why this Elder was so strongly against appointing that pioneer and why he was successful...

i wrote a letter to the branch office here in answer to their un proclamation.. the one i wrote in dutch i have already sent, but for your pleasure and leisure and fun.

i have translated it from dutch into english so that you "normal" folks can read it.

I have brought this already up some time ago. While the movie has nothing to do with the WTS I think they marketing people used a very similiar font for the word on the cover.

JW Conventions now accept Mastercard, Visa etc

i don't know if this has already been posted??.

according to the uk may kingdom ministry, there will now be facilities in place to accept donations by credit cards and debit cards at all english language conventions.

as far as i am aware this is the first time that this happened in the uk, although it have have been introduced in other countries at an earlier time.. i suppose that the gb are hoping that the dubs will be so overwhelmed by the "whole convention experience" that they will get themselves into debt, paying money they don't have into the society coffers.. i am also sure that at every break, an announcement will be made explaining exactly where these credit card machine facilities will be.. also another first, next to each contribution box will be a big wad of the gift aid forms, so the wt will get an additional 22% on top paid for by the goverment.

BTW, the British seem to be very uptodate: in Germany it is also not common that the convention program is broadcasted on FM radio as someone here mentioned.
