Umbertoecho here.
by umbertoecho inhello people.. i'm tired and a bit sick at the moment but i can't let anyone think that this is going to go away.... i am able to tell you a few things in order to prevent any confusion in the minds of those who are thinking that nothing will come of this arc;that nothing will effect the wtbts in america and other places.. i have been there and given my testimony.
helen milroy and her assistants were there along with another group of people who are there to lend assistance if you crack up at any time during or after the hearing.
i did not crack up but can see how this happens.. security is tight and anonymity is sacred to them as they want to protect all who come forward.

Thanks for putting yourself out there in order to effect justice! Much appreciated. To me, this child abuse problem was what drove me out of the damaging organization and gave me the permission to look into other things.
Once again, many many thanks!

Funny grammar error in German Watchtower
by processor inthey seem to have laid off their proofreaders.
in the new 03/2016 study watchtower there is a picture description:a mature young person does not act like a friend of god at the kingdom hall but a friend of the world at school.
the german issue saysein reifer junger mensch verhalt sich im konigreichssaal nicht wie ein freund jehovas und in der schule wie ein freund der welt.

Elders, oh my God what a bunch of losers!
by Crazyguy inok i don't mean to put all of them into just one box so to speak, their are some that are smart successful etc.
but my god most of them are just wasted space, ignorant, no drive, horrible jobs, make nothing for income and the only thing in life they have going for them is this title.
no wonder so many will not wake up and hold on to this stupid cult, it's all they have.

I was also an elder and no, the description in the OP definitely does not match me. I am definitely smart, not just in my own perception, but also according to people in and outside of JW-Land. I always wanted to do the right thing, just like wasanelderonce did. Most of my life I've definitely had good jobs and worked in three different continents and actually lost track of how many countries, to be honest.
As an elder, a lot of the stuff was done sincerely believing on one level that it was the 'right thing to do', even though it did not compute, felt weird and wasn't loving. We were ALL brainwashed and, as we know, intelligence or the lack thereof has nothing to do with it.
By the same token, it can be compared with the shunning 99% of all JWs display. It might go against their "natural love" as humans, but because they've been mind controlled, they still do it, for if they don't, they might be destroyed in Armageddon. This behavior seen by an outsider, simply cannot be understood and it's consider almost inhuman and yet, we all ex-jws, at some point, were guilty of it.
What I mean is that, like in every big group of people, you can find anything among elders as you can find anything among any other population group, but generalizing is definitely not warranted.

I have definitely seen fully bearded elders in Saarland conducting the Watchtower study. No big deal. In the north of Germany it is a bit more controlled I would say. -

Freedom in admitting the truth...
by _Morpheus infor those that lurk or havnt decided to post yet.... living a lie is difficult.
nobody would likely disagree with that... many of us lived or are living the wt lie for the sake of friends or family.
it can eat at us and put us in situations where we frame half truths, try to find tactful way to avoid telling people what we really think.. there is great freedom in being able to admit truths.

After having read the God Delusion and The Selfish Gene, I'm reading Rupert Sheldrake's The Science Delusion and am finding it very well thought out and balanced. There are so many questions that cannot be answered, but there is nothing wrong with still asking the questions with a scientific spirit and desire to discover.
