i guess you can be physically out, like in a huge way, but definitely mentally in.. serena williams claims she won't be celebrating her daughter's first birthday.. i did know people like that, raised as a jw but never actually baptizing.

that didn't mean they were not messed up in the head though..

just read this interesting article about how the internet or, better said, the abundance of information facilitated by the internet has helped not only jws but also members of other cults, like the mormons, to be able to make "informed" decisions when leaving the faith.. here is the link: why i chucked my mormon faith and became an atheist.

in this video ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=frcleoxkyu0 ) there is a very easy to follow explanation of how to prove with the watchtower library that their asertion that jerusalem was destroyed in 607 bce does not compute.. i tried to check it with a recent version of the cd, namely 2009, and the numbers are all changed so that it doesn't work now.

does anybody know if 2007 was the last unchanged version in this respect?.

and btw, what do you reckon of this blatant change again?.

My 16 year old son is starting to see the light

on march this year (2009) i dad myself from the jws.

of course, it was nice to finally feel free, real free, after over 40 years of mind control.

i don't write much here but i feel this is worth sharing.. one measure i took before leaving was to take my then 15 year old son for a walk and explain to him that things would be different from the jws standpoint, but that i would always love him and that he could come to me at any time.. one thing that was very hard for me, is the fact that i separated from my wife, with which i was having problems for a long time already.

anyway, i was reading today in the new york times that religious tolerance has increased in the states.

however, when one takes a look at the graphic that they show.
