Shunning ? did JEHOVAH shun Satan ?
by smiddy ini don`t know if this has been addressed before , however it appears there is an inconsistency and a big one at that with the practice of shunning with jw`s.
elders / ministerial servants look out for the spiritual health of the congregation , and if they see something they feel is detrimental to the spiritual health of the congregation they are going to act to rectify it, .
they take appropiate action where they think is necessary .

So I thought about your comments and Believe me I'm still thinking about it.
I get that If she is still mentally in then it's a NONO. But what if currently she is doing things no "in" jw would do in their lives. Like seriously there is no way even I would have done these things a few years ago when I was in.
I reaaaaaly love this girl by the way.
For instance we are told to do the daytext, She'll respond with, "yup, we'll do it when we are home." we Never do it.
We do the watchtower in a record time of 10minutes, I'm not even joking. We only do the questions.
And allot of other things...
Her parents are sooooooooooooooooOOO OOO hard core I cannot even begin to tell you. But I cant let her parents disqualify her.I'll follow some of the advice on here to maybe go through jwfacts, because at this moment, she knows she cant answer my questions, but we haven't sat down in a while and talked about it.
She just tells me to chill with the questions, its not like we don't just do whatever the hell we want any way. And I do agree, what they say doesn't actually affect us in annnnny way.
So thats good?

Are Jehovah's Witnesses Christian or Cult, Do JWs Offer Solutions for Local and Global Problems of life?
by skepticSam inthe awake on "hope for the homelessness" was one of the worse illustrations how the cult has no love for anyone that can't provide donations to further this spiritual ponzi scheme!
the premise of this awake made no sense, i've read many books and took classes on social issues affecting mankind, the awake does not help fix the problem.
what did this magazine offer those who are suffering the humiliation of living out of their cars or "tent city" or under a bridge?

How can they ever offer a solution for Local or Global problems of life when they are waiting and hoping for it to become worse so that the Great Tribulation can Start so that everything and everyone else can die.

Okayy, so I'm halfway with my talk.
For the life of me I can't make myself say that shit about listening to the borg. I know I know, lesser of two evils, but I'll just have to try and get them to think on another way without saying that.
So here is my talk thus far. I need some divine inspiration from you guys on how to add some sting to it without making it toooo freaking obvious. i am trying to undermine the dis-fellowship teaching. I'm even throwing in a bit of materialism (a new car) (wink)
The Talk.
We are all well acquainted with setting goals.
We set short term goals and we set long term goals to reach the things we strive for. For instance, buying a new car. We will have certain objectives we have to accomplish, (save money every month etc), to achieve the goal of getting a new car.
Now it is important to have goals. It gives you something to work for and helps you realize what you should do to achieve that goal.
Now have we ever thought of making happiness a goal?
We’ll the bible says that happiness can be achieved by having certain setting certain objectives.
There are a myriad of ways in which one can reach the goal of happiness but we will focus on one.
Turn to Mathew 22:39 “You must love your neighbour as yourself.”
How do you want others to think of you, talk about you and treat you?
Do you think of that person like you would want to be thought of?
Do you talk to that person the way you would like to be talked to?
Do you treat that person how you want to be treated?
There are absolutely no reason we can’t apply Luke6:31
“Just as you want men to do to you, do the same way to them.”
Thats all I have for now. Still working on it

@stan livedeath You are talking about 99% of any talk ever given. I have done that once when I was still a ministerial servant on my way to waking up. two months ago one ex-elder told me how horrible and off topic my talk was and that he could have seen I was slipping. Yup, that talk was about 4years ago.
I wonder if I shouldn't tell them that I would like to be removed from the school, Oh dog if my to-be mother in law would find out about this I will get the talk of my life. Yea well, fk that i guess. I'm already thinking of calling in sick.
punk has a good idea, but by doing that I might fuck up another kid in the congregation even more if he can't see that I am actually messing with them by trying to "shock" them. -

Assuming you are still sitting there because of circumstances. Why do you still give/don't give talks?
I ask this because I have to give talk No. 3: Love and Obedience Bring Happiness—nwt p. 26 ¶4-6 (5 min.) this Tuesday.
Usually if the talk is about money or some other shit I usually say no, but I guess I can mangle this one without feeling like I want to kill myself. -

Do JWs Really Listen To The Elders And The Governing Body?
by minimus inthere are a few hardcore believers that will do whatever they are told to do but i think a majority do whatever they decide to do.
they are not coerced into anything.
they publicly work along with the program but in reality, do whatever they want to do.. i think the leaders have their hands full..
-
1tMakesNoSence
Of course not. No one can reach That standard of robotic perfection. Never have I found one who does.
They don't listen to them, they only defend them.
it just makes no sense
