Whenever I asked my mom about 1975, her immediate words were, "Yeah, but the Society said it was sorry!". She was upset, and I stopped the conversation. It can be a touchy subject.

In my KH, the presiding overseer once stated that 1975 was the R/F's fault for being overzealous. I wasn't there at the time, but if I was... there's no way I could've kept quiet! This was about 3 years ago. I doubt they would bring it up in a DC..

it's amazingly simple, for thoughtful, and litterate people to see that the watchtower organization is in a state of free fall.

it's never been easier to "connect the dots" suggesting the trouble the watchtower org.

1)most of the people who left jehovah's witnesses also left institutional christianity,i mean they did not join another group (or did they)?.

I have felt no immediate need to attend a "church" or join another organized religion, other than to be friends with other Christians. When I realized how far I was from God and Jesus by being in the WT, I realized that I was never going to let anyone get in the way any longer. My relationship with God and Jesus will always be a personal one, and I don't think joining a church is going to get me any closer. I always remember John 15:5 where Jesus stated that he is the vine and everyone attached to him are the branches. I don't see the connection for organized religion to be involved.

Just my opinion..

i know this article was brought up with respect to the statement it contains regarding the fact that religion should not divide a family.

i finally got to read it and i found something more interesting a few paragraphs earlier.

This is the real kicker for me. It is HIGHLY hypocritical of the WT to be printing an article like this. It must be a PR piece for some land or court somewhere. The WT only prints articles that will benefit itself, and not the R/F.

I plan on reading this article to my mom, and also show her the "Keep Yourselves" appendix where the D/F rules are laid out. The hypocrisy stinks...

this is in response to a post i did on another thread about the borg not having as much swagger as they used to.

it was suggested that i post it under a new topic so here it is.

it's a brief summary of the decades and how they've managed to get away with claiming that 'the end' is nigh for over 130 years now.

the leader of the cult told his followers the ufo was hidden behind a meteor and they should castrate themselves, put on some rebok's running shoes and commit suicide....crazy.....in a documentary i saw how some members were visiting family at the time and missed this...they tried un-successfully to later commit suicide.

some came to there senses latter on....same with the branch davidians....i ask how do people get suckered into this obvious crap!!!

When you're under powerful mind control, it's easy to accept pretty much anything. All logical reasoning, sometimes emotion, go right out the window. As far as the Witnesses are concerned, Ray Franz said it best: "They are victims of victims." I just HOPE that there's no mass suicide planned for the JW's..
