If this is true, then I guess I'll be outed in a few months...lol
It comes down to this:
If you've faded, and you get asked the "Loyalty" question, and you answer in the negative, then you're automatically Disassociated.
here's what i think will happen as i continue to develop my wt sleight of hand thought.... .
faders are a problem.
they want their cake and they want to eat it too.
is the end of the world just a fantasy in religious people's mind?
i am really beginning to believe we were all just made to believe in a fairy tale.
i still love jehovah and jesus but my faith is just wasting away behind waiting for a change such as the rapture/armaggeddon/paradise earth.
You know what, man? I had been spoon-fed that the end of the world was coming so quick, I probably wouldn't survive it. My family lived like it was going to end pretty soon. I still remember my dad saying that the end was right around the corner, and that there was no need to fix up the rickety house we lived in because of that. And you know what? He passed away, and we're all still here. My mom, who is going to turn 60 in 3 more years has been waiting for the end all her life, too.
If it IS going to happen, then GREAT. If it's NOT, then GREAT.
BUT, from my own perspective on reading the Bible alone and no Watchtower/Awake magazines, Jesus wouldn't have wanted us to preach a message of DOOM. Let alone, he wouldn't have wanted us to preach that he didn't die for all mankind. So I'm going to make the most of my life by living simply and helping other people OUT of this cult and helping out people in need.
What I'm really tired of is this: The Watchtower's insistent claims that the "end is nigh". Didn't they ever get a clue by reading Luke 21:8? If only all Witlesses could apply this text to the Watchtower...
the wt mags are using the word "1914" and "1919" less often because jw teenagers today could not care less about the hard core teachings of the past.
the jw religion today is not the same religion it was even 10 years ago.
As more and more time passes, the dates are getting more and more irrelevant. What I'm waiting for is more "new light" that will further extend the "last days" past 1914.
What did you mean by "extend the last days past 1914"? That they should set an actual new date for the start of the "last days"? Because IMO, when they wrote off the Sheep/Goats teaching AND the Generation teaching back in '95, they extended the "last days" to go on for an undefined period.
Back on topic, I don't think the younger R/F even care about the dates, and I can tell you why: It's not part of their week-after-week indoctrination. Nowadays it's about "conduct" and going out to field service to convert more people into parroting drones. Gone are the days when the Watchtower used to expound and prophecy that each day was just one day closer to "the end". Gone are the days when they would set a new date for all the R/F to work towards... only to see it fail.
" (this would harmonize with matt 10:9 that tells them not to take any money with them).
" the interpretation of the acts of the apostles, 1961, pp.120-21.
it became evident, however, that further personal training in the house-to-house ministry was needed.
In the prophecy recorded at Malachi 1:11, Jehovah declares: "From the sun's rising even to its setting my name will be great among the nations, and ... a presentation will be made to my name, even a clean gift; because my name will be great among the nations." In fulfillment of this prophecy, Jehovah's dedicated servants are publicly praising his name in all the earth as they humbly carry out their ministry. (Ps. 109:30; Matt. 24:14)
I don't understand how they can state the above when:
1) Romans 10:13 (and it's context) shows that all who call upon the name of Jesus will be saved.
2) Acts 4:12 states that salvation is found only in the name of Jesus, and no other name has been given for salvation.
By the way, did anyone notice that the Watchtower did not define what exactly their good news is? No mention of 1914 anywhere.

i get that kind of feedback when i talk to dubs that i know .
how about your experiences.
do the jws you talk to really keep up with the tidal wave of wt doctrine changes?
This has been my experience with my family, as far as doctrinal matters are concerned:
-My dad (now deceased) after 1995. I believe that the Generation caused him to stop attending. But he still went took us to all the conventions, so I think he still believed in all the crap. Up until he passed away in 2000, he thought the end was "just around the corner".
-My mom still believes the 1914-Generation doctrine that was taught for over 50 years. Even after I showed her the 1995 article, she still believes it. This is mainly due to her father (my grandpa), having been born in 1913 or 1914, is still alive and breathing. So to her, she thinks the end will come before he passes away. Oh yeah, and she still thinks the preaching work is for separating the sheep and the goats.
-I'm the oldest sibling, and the next sibling down is my sister who is a Witness and believes whatever the next Watchtower teaches her. That's it.
-After her is my youngest sister, and I've shared with her a lot of "apostate" things. I want her to realize what the Watchtower really teaches before she tries to get baptized. She's doing well, but she's conflicted because she still lives at home with my JW mom. She's still trying to grasp everything I've taught her, but before I started telling her everything, she barely knew anything.
-My brother-in-law (who married my first sister) didn't know that the Watchtower teaches that Michael the Archangel is Jesus. He didn't know that the Watchtower claims they were picked in 1919 as the only true religion. He didn't even know that Jesus wasn't the mediator for the great crowd! But he is pretty gung-ho about being a Witness and going door-to-door.
I'll be honest. I didn't know much about anything when I started researching. Even though I was a Witless for most of my life (until recently), I never took the time to study all of the old crap. And the old crap never gets brought up anyway, so I was plain ignorant. The one thing I'll never understand is how full-grown adults can accept all of the changes that have occurred over the past decades. I'll never understand that... I guess when you think that the Watchtower is truly guided by God, you're willing to accept anything.
imo - who is the evil slave and how we can tell?.
matthew 7: 15 ~ 23 'by their fruits you will recognise them.'.
it's apparent by their conduct, that after waiting 35 years and seeing 1914 fail to bring armageddon, the slave that was faithful turned evil.
