was it to be true, that jehovah would have an active 'visible organization' on this earth today, as is claimed by the governing bodies watchtower society, would not the christ, when he gave the composite sign of his invisible presence, have made some mention of that organization, and directed us all to follow it?

Exactly! I personally documented some of the specific texts you mentioned and it's perfectly clear that there WOULDN'T be an organization representing Christ, otherwise he would have flat out told them! This is what the WT needs the Bible to say:

"Look guys, I know all of what I've said sounds confusing so far, so let me break it down further. I'm going to go away, you're all going to die, and apostasy is going to set in for approximately 1900 years in the church. Then I'm going to come back and establish my Kingdom invisibly and I will personally select a group of anointed individuals who have sort of existed throughout these 1900 years but not really. This group will have the new task of preaching about my established Kingdom instead of the message you guys are preaching now (which is about how my death has freed mankind from sin). I know, I know, but I think this plan will work out the best. Got it? Good."

yesterday, my wife and i was going for a walk in the neighborhood.

she was carrying my niece and commenting on how heavy she is.

i told her that apparently her sister has to carry her child, diaper bag, and her things to the bus stop every morning.

Now that 1919 has been brought into the conversation, you need to show her the 1919 WT scans where they taught that Russell was the FDS.This is critical because it wasn't until 1927 that they were teaching that the anointed were the FDS.

Once you can undermine their authority straight from their own publications, the rest of the tower comes crashing down..

Will someone please explain the difference between 'anointed' and 'genuine anointed'?

'anointed' - a loony JW who believes is going to heaven but the GB/local elders have branded as 'crazy' and 'unfit' for heaven.

'genuine anointed' - a loony JW who believes is going to heaven but the GB/local elders also believe that too. must be someone who dedicates all their life/soul/energy to the WTBTS.

just found a letter from wt to my son acknowledging his letter to them asking for a bethel application and that is the letterhead at the top...and they signed it that way..........i have never heard of this!

!..........weird...anybody?.........i guess because it is about bethel they consider it like a convent or monastery?...................oompa.

He also mentioned the danger of singing or humming Christmas songs now that we are nearing the Christmas season.

I liked Christmas songs when I was growing up. Sure, I loathed the celebration of it. But the music was always fun, lol.

I took down the Knowledge book and looked every scripture and there was memorial tombs mentioned being opened and there is a scripture that talks about the meek inheriting the earth but there is not one scripture that spells it out......

I've said this before and I'll say it again: It wasn't directly through Bible reading that I discovered there was no Paradise earth for true Christians (although it helped). It was through reading and analyzing the reasoning found in the Watchtower's own Reasoning book. Now that was a shock!

A Statement in the WTS from 10/25/09

there was a statement in the wt study yesterday that really struck me.. i believe it was in the box pimping the "keep yourself in big brother's love" oops...."keep yourself in god's love" book.. it was a simple statement but hit me like a ton of bricks - furthering my resentment toward the hateful and indiscreet slave.. it said something like ..."many people have left jehovah's love" and went on to mention conduct instead of doctrine being the cause.. it really got me thinking:.

1) doesnt god love unconditionally?

isnt that why he sent jesus christ forth?.

Is the WT misinterpreting Newton? What does "mortal" mean?

yesterday's (18 october, 2009) wt lesson had a picture of milton & newton with a caption that said both men "knew" about the hope of living forever on earth.

(interesting it didn't say they "believed" it.

that's just a side point to this thread.).

In a manuscript Newton wrote in 1704 in which he describes his attempts to extract scientific information from the Bible, he estimated that the world would end no earlier than 2060. In predicting this he said, "This I mention not to assert when the time of the end shall be, but to put a stop to the rash conjectures of fanciful men who are frequently predicting the time of the end, and by doing so bring the sacred prophesies into discredit as often as their predictions fail."

Me thinks Newton would not quite support the WT seeing as how all of their predictions have failed..

the second paragraph recommends dressing modestly at all times so you're ready to witness at a moment's notice.

it even says that your neat & clean appearance may arouse "curiosity".. .

I immediately thought of Losch's comments regarding being able to spot the JWs in a movie ticket line.

It's funny you say this because now that I'm out, it's almost too easy to spot a JW out in public. Did we really look that strange???
