Right, I was thinking they didn't do it anymore, but back in the day they did, right? I can't remember if around '88 there were 12 or 16 on the GB. God, the one time a frickin proclaimers book would come in handy.

Hey does anyone remember or know how many there were on the G.B. in the late 80's? Also, were they the ones making the final decision on appointment of elders back then? I remember an old Watchtower all about how appointments of of m.s. and elders was completely inspired, even though it did go through a very strict process of documentation. Anyhow...if I remember correctly basically the c.o. made a recommendation that was upheld at h.q., correct?

I think, like many things, it would ignorant on our part to at the least seriously consider the possibility. There's SO much we don't understand yet about the "mechanics" of the universe. Peeps used to think the Earth was flat ;)

Elders calling me in an hour
by bottleofwater inokay, if you haven't figured me out yet, read my past forum posts.. so the 2 elders wanted to meet up with me for the last time today to talk to me, but i told them that i want to talk on the phone and not in person as i can speak more freely and have less inhibitions.. they found out that i had committed acts of homosexuality with a few people and they still want to keep me in the congregation somehow.. i, myself, don't feel repentant over what i did and don't really regret much.
if i came across an opportunity to actually be in a relationship with someone and it were to appeal to me, i could potentially take that opportunity.. so now, i need to know what to tell them when they call me in an hour from now.
i want to be able to let them know that i don't mind being disfellowshipped and that i'm not repentant.

I found my announcement didn't even occur to me after the fact. Walking out of that J.C. meeting room and then driving straight to my parents house to tell them was enough. I was too wrapped up in all the emotions I completely spaced that there even was an announcement.

Anyone Know the title...
by feenx inof a book that came out recently that was a woman's comedic memoir of growing up as a jw.
i remember the cover clearly, it was a picture of a little girl standing under an umbrella, with sun and green grass, and the umbrella was shielding her from armageddon with dark bldg's behind her and people running.
it was either last year or earlier this year that it came out.. any help is much appreciated .
