I can't take it anymore!

my dad was recently made an elder about maybe 6 months ago, and now he is never around he's always at work or doing some kind of jw crap.

now he conducts the watchtower study and is even doing the special talk tommorow.

he's become an even more strict controlling jerk than he was before, and i'm never allowed to go out and do anything non jw related because he doesn't have the time.

Thank you everyone for your advice. I have talked to my dad about it and he said that he would ask the other elders for less privileges because he agreed that it was too much.

I do have somewhat of a plan for when I leave and I have a job (although I work for other witnesses). Im almost done with my homeschool so I can start college classes soon, I plan on telling my parents that its so I can support myself for pioneering ;) I think the hardest thing is knowing that when i leave they are going to shun me and I'm going to have to deal with that if I want to be free. That hurts the most.

Thanks everyone. He was like this before he was appointed, and he's had a couple of breakdowns before when I was younger. I thought he had gotten over it and I don't want him to end up like that again but I guess there's not much I can do about it. I can understand how he is stressed, if I had 4 kids, a full time job that I hated, and I was an elder I would be pretty crazy too. I just wish there was something I could do to help.

He's obsessed with us being a perfect family, if we don't do something just right he freaks out. Like last night the kitchen was a little messy and he got so mad about it that he made my mom cry and and hasn't spoken to us since yesterday. I think maybe my dad is just stressed from being an elder? Or maybe he is just mentally ill? I feel like my family is becoming more and more dysfunctional, and it's really starting to drive me a little crazy. Now I have to do twice as much jw stuff now that I'm an elders kid and I really can't take it anymore! Thanks for reading my little rant.

--well, this week's showing at the hall was the opposite, it was about death with violins playing in the background.

I agree with everyone, this a horrible and ridiculous video. Everyone in my Cong was bawling their eyes out, except i just kept a blank face and one other rebellious teen just started laughing hysterically. I feel bad because I heard my dad say he's gonna chew her out for being disrespectful when actually she just did what I wanted to do too! Utter ridiculousness. Of course its mean to laugh but its hard to believe all these people really fall for this crap.

Of course since I'm only 16 I went because my parents made me. It was horrible but I endured. At least I got to wear a pretty new dress I guess. 222 people attended, it was so packed in our tiny kingdom hall I felt like I was going to faint. And the other girls were stupid snobs as usual. I can't wait until the day I dont have to do this crap anymore.

since the memorial is coming up soon and its about time for me to go shopping for a new memorial ( aka easter) dress, i've realized what the memorial really is for us teenage girls, a beauty pageant!

the memorial is the day i spend painting my nails, curling my hair, and carefully applying makeup because my mother says i have to "represent jehovah" and look my best.

in reality its just to impress the newcomers and to compete with the other girls.

JW Rogue I know a couple of girls like that, super tight skirt with fishnets, tons of makeup, super high heels. Theres this one girl that used to be my friend and she always dressed like a goth hooker lol. But that was before she went totally crazy and now she's dating a guy twice her age. Her family left our Cong and never came back, probably disfellowshipped now. They were definitely the most disfunctional family I've ever met.

I agree, its kind of depressing how women in the org really seem to base their worth off of appearance. I know a lot of sisters with eating disorders, myself included. But I guess like you said we dont have much else to focus on since we don't get any privileges in the Cong like the men do.

Lol! I'll try the black nail polish and see if anybody notices ;) Dressing up is by far the most interesting part of the memorial, otherwise its just the same dreary ritual very year.
