hi i'm18 and am a pb going to college.

i have not been inmeaninful contact with anyone my age for the last 2 years.

no prom for me.

First I must admit that everyone here is sort of correct when they say not to get baptized. You see, you get baptized if you trully in your heart, mind, and body want to serve Jehovah for the rest of your life.

This is a decision you and only you can make. Not your parents, not your best friends, not your neighbor, or any one in any of these forums. You must believe that there is a creator, a Satan, sin, a Jesus Christ, and above all how you fit in this whole world around you.

Don't be 'warm' or undecisive in the important things such as your spirituallity, read the Bible and see if this is what you want. You don't have to read any publication from the Brothers if you don't want to, just read the Bible. Find information from other sources besides WT publications.

I hope you make your own decision and stick with it, remember, It's your life and you live by your decisions.

just looking for some advice

i just want to start off by saying that i am not a jehovah's witness...about six months ago i started dating a really great guy, and about 2 months into our relationship he shared with me that he was disfellowshipped for a relationship he was in (he was living with his girlfriend).

this is so difficult for him because his family lives in the area, and being segregated from them is very hard for him.

recently, he has been considering an attempt to be reinstated (i'm sorry if i am not using the correct terminology...most of what i know about the religion i have learned online).

You could also try to find out what's going on in his faith and try to have an open mind when you go into a meeting. I prefer you go in a Sunday meeting with him, just to start off and then judge for yourself if this is worth staying with him or leaving him.

I once had the same problem, but I wanted to know what she was getting into so I followed her one day. I listened to the preacher and watched as they all participated. I was quite impressed that I am now a member and also I got married with her.

My advise is to look up many sources of information and experience it for yourself with an open mind to see if this is something for you. Otherwise, I tell you the truth, he will leave you. "Give peace a chance."

Can you say SATAN?!?!

what is your stance on the devil, satan, demons etc?

personally i find the concept of the devil as presented in scripture to be purely symbolic of humankind's ability to chose to do good or evil.

the development of a moral compass unique to each person.. with many ancient beliefs, people tried to humanize concepts in order to better understand.

Truth be said! those who have little to no faith will always want to 'see to believe' to actually believe. WHAT A LOAD OF CRAP!!!

I think that if you can trust that air exists by feeling it on your cheek and hair and not see it, Why would it be so difficult to actually believe in a creator named Jehovah and his arch-nemesis Satan!

By not believeing is to have Satan win already! It also means you will soon see the glory of the Almighty and then you will be the many who will yell 'WOE!' when he cleans this world of the unfaithful and unbelievers.

Why do I keep thowing pearls to a bunch of dirty, worldly, selfish pigs like you!

Hello All,

I do believe in the Almighty, there fore the belief of Satan in present. I must say, many of you are quite wrong in the whole idea of Satan.

There is the faithful Job who was attacked by Satan without Job knowing it was he. He thought it was God who was punishing him.

Then there is the devils. In Gen. 6 I can positivly say that the angels that came down to take any and all the beautiful nearly perfect women and that they left the celestial organisation of Jehovah to please themselves.

It is because of satan and his minions of devils that this world is the way it is. War, rape, greed, selfishness, it all boils down to the teachers of all evil.

I mean there was a time when the world wasn't this way. But since the great war everything changed. Fathers were taken away due to war. Those fathers who could have taught their children better morals died, leaving the children alone to solve problems of the world by themselves.

Then they teach their kids what they learn, but by then WW2 came around taking more great fathers and the cycle continues.

Sinning Against the Holy Spirit

Hello Spiritboi,

I know this is a tricky subject so let me say what I remember.

Sinning against the holy spirit is sinning while knowing it is a sin, and yet you carry out such sin, and you don't ask for forgivness for such sin.

Example: Judas sinned against the holy spirit because he knew that Jesus was Christ and yet he carried out due to his greed and never asked forgiveness. Instead he hanged himself.

Actually, archeology has discovered many clues that have to do with the flood. like the mammoth in greenland, or the ark itself, even non-biblical people like in Japan, India, and others refer to a great flood in their own history. Don't just take what is said in one place an guide yourself in beliefs you haven't researched.

Besides I don't think you believe that back in those days people didn't lie or told made-up stories like they do now. Lie, deseite, back stabing, blackmail, all of these began later in life when philosophy was just being born.

I know where you are coming from but you don't have much to fall back on. I'm sorry.

Hello all,

I got something! I was reading up in the info of the origins of mythological beings. It seems that they all disapeared after the great flood. I think mabey all those myth gods really existed because of Gen. 6:1-7. Like the Zeus, Odin, Amun-Ra, Vishnu, & Amaterasu were all gods or nephelim of those times. Even dragons may have existed (since the word dinosaurs is a modern term).

Any thoughts or ideas on this subject?

Dear Changeling,

Don't tell me, You are an atheas (I hope I spelled this right). I know where your coming from but it's like a marriage. You don't just get married and expect that it will last forever. The pair have to work on many things together and avoid any other distractions or temptations that may want you to leave your spouse and get with that other.

You ask your spouse to be faithful to only you and no one else. Why do you think Jehovah God deserves less? Because you don't see him?

I see him every single day. Mabey not the way you want to see him, but I do see him. I see his power when thunder rolls, when the wind blows. I see his inteligence when my dauhter was born, or when I see the sun every morn. I see his justice in the kingdom hall how every one has resieved when they call, and I especially see his love every morning when I awake with a kiss from my wife and I go to sleep with a kiss from dauhter.

Mabey you are one of the few that are alone and suffered traumatic surcomestances, and what makes you feel better is just to blame it on god. I once was one of those few. I used to belong to catholic beliefs, then latter to taoist & buhdist beliefs, then I turned to jewish beliefs and non denomination churches. I can tell you right now that the JWs beliefs are beyond all other churches, sects, and/or beliefs the only one to trully get it as close to correct as any one can ever get.

Trully, you do have free will to do as you wish, however Jehovah DEMANDS you to serve him as his holy people, because as soon as you study the Bible you will find how in the past the Israelites had to follow the rules and regulations, organized by God himself, so they can live long and be prosperous under the guidance of The Almighty. If anyone of the Israelites shows diffrent views or tries to follow other 'dogmas' that were not from him, which many did try and there is proof of them, the were stoned to death.

Today, we see many churches that have demons. For example, churches still have pagan rituals and ideals mixed with christian ideas. Others preach the word then sleep around with members of the church. And almost all of them still carry crosses, like the ignorant people they are. I mean really! If they only look up the history of Roman punishment they will become informed and 'the truth will set them free'.

My friend Sad Emo, even if the view of all religions seam to be uniformity, not one single church will teach the same idea all around the world like the JWs do or will they pound you with false belifs of pagan or traditional nature like all other religions do. Continue reading the Bible and research information to become a great solder of The Almighty opposing the temptations of everyones enemy Satan.
