  i had no doubts at all about the 'truth' untill a friend of mine in the cong' began falling away.

  in trying to help him i had to ask questions and do research and that of course cracked the doors of my mind open for the first time in over thirty years.. years ago, when jwd allowed members to have signatures, i used the following quote from voltaire as mine.

  i still love it.. doubt is uncomfortable, certainty is ridiculous..

  [A] All the good people, the truely good-hearted, spiritual and loving people, that were going to be destroyed because they didn't beleive what the company said.

  [B] All the other good-hearted and loving people, that would never hear what the company said because the worlds population increases so much faster than the company's does, also being destroyed by this "killer-god", simply because they were born too late.

  [C] The fact that absolutely NONE of their bullshit has ever made any sense to me.

  There, 3 things taken together, intertwined into one rope that hung any belief that I had that the company was right and true.

  Tribute to Mrs. Flipper - Happy Birthday to my Sweet Wife !

  well my wife turned another year younger yesterday - had my son and his girlfriend visiting so i couldn't post too much as we were busy celebrating !

  i can truly say that having been in a couple bad relationships years before i met mrs. flipper that being with her the last 2 years plus ( married year and a half now ) has been the happiest years of my life.

  the positive energy and great hilarious humor she brings to my life is one of the magic formula's that help , i believe , a couple get through the stress of living in day to day life with the pressures we all face.

  i doubt youll even read this letter since it comes from your son, a son youve abandoned over your religious views, but i wanted to write you one final letter to see if theres any hope that you can come to your senses as far as this religion goes and we can renew our relationship.

  im doing this because i care for you and mom deeply and feel very much distressed that you two refuse to see anyones opinion as being factual other than your own when it concerns the jw religion.

  Witness Kids - Scared silly by the WTBTS

  i wonder if anyone else who grew up as a jw can relate with me on this subject.. i grew up hearing stories of 'faithful brothers & sisters' being tortured to a point where they were almost dead.

  all they had to do to be set free was renounce jehovah and their religon.

  the stories i heard of torture were graphic in nature and to this day i can not handle hearing about torture or watch it being portrayed in movies.

  Being scared constantly is probably one of the strongest memories I have of childhood. Don't get me wrong, I have many good memories to think about, but there was always that undercurrent of dread, the fear of total destruction, millions of dead rotting corpses, persecution, not to mention the whole demon thing. I was scared shitless most of the time. I tell myself all the time; My son will not suffer the same.
