recently i went to the circuit convention.
an illustration was mentioned that really made me mad.
they said that "you can see a 5 stories high building.
So...they won't "tell me what to do" about higher education, but they do praise those that don't go to college and consider going to college the same as shooting yourself in the head with a rifle.
Say...going to college just might take out that compulsive part of the brain that keeps folks in the WTS...

Tolerate the few I think of as boneheads.
Not just John, Paul, George and Ringo - we must also account somehow for Pete Best, Stu Sutcliffe, Brian Epstein, George Martin...maybe even Andy White and Jimmy Nicol...perhaps Derek Taylor and Neil Aspinall (who George formally recognized). Clearly they could not have ALL been on the ark. Yoko would have been eaten, despite the vegetarian-only dietary edict.

god jehovah has had a preoccupation, if not an obsession with meat.
although cain worked hard to produce an offering of vegetables, it was rejected because it was not meat.
priests were instructed to save certain cuts of meat for jehovah, the fatty portions.
Jehovah will have to do a LOT of reengineering to both change animals habits, as well as change their anatomy. My housecat's entire digestive tract is built to break down high protein meat.
This "evening meal" is giong to be looooooong. Have any idea how long it will take to have the current aniaml population eat 7,000,000,000 people? Man, is it going to stink to high heaven!
Let us take the Bible position on the subject and not over-occupy ourselves with merely incidental matters to the extent of wasting time, thought and peace of heart

well it looks like this site is a real melting pot, a broad spectrum of views and beliefs.

so in as few words as possible, preferably not more than one sentence, how would you describe yourself spiritually?
I think the question should be revised to "What is your belief system?"
I would have to make a distinction between my spirituality and my belief system, I think. Spirituality is eclectic/Buddhist but belief system is rather Secular Humanist.
christmas is the time to talk about peace.
jesus is called the prince of peace.. john lennon and yoko ono put out posters that read "war is over - if you want it".. peace doesn't depend on scientific progress.
it certainly doesn't take prosperity and riches to have peace.

i don't have to tell you how jw's use the line about how the world is just getting worse and it's a sign that we are in the end times.

is it really getting worse, or does every generation say that?
"The world" is getting better. No vassals in Europe, no (official) sharecroppers in the South, no open slavery in the developed world.
Not perfection, but on the whole improvement. Even with our "confused languages".
I even imagine there will be a return of manners and politeness within my lifetime.
