I just registered a few weeks ago. At first I thought, "Hey, I'm going to throw my vote away by not voting, so I might as well vote for an independent like Barr. He'll never win, and then the other parties will know that I'm protesting their candidates by 'throwing my vote away' on an independent." So I registered as a "No Party" voter, and look forward to exercising that in November.

I have a relative who will not purchase anything used, on Ebay, or otherwise. If it is pre-owned, it will not enter their house. Occasionally, a purge will take place where she will go through belongings and throw things out. The zeal behind these purges seem to be random, but never without the thought that they are rational.

PO: Do you believe that the faithful and discreet slave is led by God?
Me: Absolutely (Since I believe that all Christians are anointed and that all anointed Christians that are judged as faithful and discreet must have been led by God)
PO: Do you believe we have authority as your elders? (Tricky, yes-> JC, no-> DA)
Me: I believe that I should accept the authority of all who meet the qualifications in 1 Tim 3. If you feel that you meet those qualifications, then sure. -

"Apostates " are sex degenerates.!!!!
by hamsterbait ini noted with anger the post about the dc where one of the speakers claimed that people who become apostate are involved in immoral conduct of some kind.. this goes down in the same list of stupidity as the statement that "apostates claim to have greater wisdom than the faithful and discreet slave" - as v pointed out they do not claim greater wisdumb, they simply disagree.. i began doubting and questioning not only after finding out about how the witchtower had lied about carbon dating, but their lies about the creative days, finding out how chinas written history goes back to before the flood, yet never mentions how the chinese were all drowned - and how the wt lies and misrepresents "evidence" for their assertions.. excuse me witchtower - but my genitals had nothing to do with seeing through the lies and deceit, and yes hypocrisy.. of course once started on that road i read more and became less convinced than ever of their claims to be gods only channel.. maybe soon i shall get the chance to become a moral degenerate, than it will prove everthing the borg claims about people like us to be true.. in the meantime stop slinging mud and insulting my integrity.. hb.

Interestingly, I know people that were sexual degenerates after leaving the WT. Oddly enough, they are not the apostates. They are the true believers who walk around with a death complex because they believe they will be destroyed at any second so who gives a shit. Then, they run around self-destructing because the group told them that is what happens to those who leave. Currently, I'm working with family and friends who have this mindset. It's unbelievable how much control the WTS exerts over people, even in an opposite way.
I've started calling them the walking dead, not to their faces. It's just a complex, but it's so terribly destructive. The true apostates know it is b.s. and move on (with some likely becoming sexual degenerates but surely not all, nor most). -

If it is an invention of man, then it would be terrible. If it is an intervention from God, it would be grand. I don't see how any one religion could convince all others of its being correct without forced conversion (bad). So if it were to be correct, and non-coercive, it would have to be from God and in a manner that is clearly discernable to all. I do think it will happen.

True.. When it first started, I thought that it was WTBTS production. The musical score and the narrators voice as well. Maybe the WTS copied them.. Who knows.

"If you are Christian you are definately Trinitarian"
by Sirona inmy jw mother thinks that all christians (non jws who call themselves christian) are all trinitarian.. i tried to point out that there are certain groups who are not trinitarian, but she seemed to think that all christian groups in babylon the great believe in the trinity.. is it true that only fringe groups reject the trinity?.
sorry for my ignorance but i don't know much about mainstream christianity.. i would like to email her (my mum) a list of religions which reject the trinity but are also christian.
i also heard of groups who believe and preach about jehovah as gods name.. sirona.

That's sort of the conclusion I was coming to when thinking about it as well.
Like in Babylon there was one kingship, one dynasty, that had control while Daniel was there. Actually, there was a king and his son who were ruling simultaneously. That is the overall gist that I keep getting from it. There is a godship and lordship that the Father and the Son operate together by means of the Holy Spirit. Paul used the word Lord so loosely in referring to both the Father and the Son.
Well, I guess that wasn't the point of this thread. But it seems to me that witnesses always want to say "Oh, none of them could be true because they believe in the trinity!" When in fact they are imagining modalism. This is probably a combined fault of the WTS for not reading more closely when they researched or deceptively setting up a straw-man, churches for not being clear enough in recognizing the distinctness of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and the individual witnesses for not taking the effort to research it (myself included). I used to rant against the trinity because I thought it was so absurd. Now I realize that it was the trinity in name, but modalism in concept that I was against.
