Aspergers anyone?

there's a young man here in new zealand with aspergers syndrome who fell foul of the law in unusual circumstances .

it's an interesting story.

i think my brother in his 40s has aspergers and have spent two years trying to persuade my mother to tell him ! shes too scared to tell him but i think it would help him as people think hes weird because of his odd behaviors and has been picked on , the police arrested him one day when someone jumped on him making out he was doing a ctizens arrest and my brother was accused of trying to abduct a child in the town but cctv prooved the allegations

were false after his arrest and questioning and his home being searched etc ... i feel so sorry for him .

if the yorkshire ripper and baby ps killer is a jehovahs witness now are you insulted that your familys would be more willing to talk to these monsters than you ?

i have read articles about peter sutcliffe (he brutally killed 13 women in the north of england in the 70s ) becoming a jehovahs witness in broadmoor and jehovahs witnesses have commented about him being a "changed man " etc and also the man who is serving 5 years for his part in the death of baby p becoming a jehovahs witness , i commented to my husband that his mum (jw ) would technically feel more comfortable having a chat and a coffee with them (because they love "the truth" ) than her own disfellowshipped children !

does this kind of story annoy those of you who are slandered for being "apostate" etc by family ?

and why dosnt it make die hard jws see the craziness of it all ?.

A DOUBLE LIFE - What's the worst case you've seen

lots of jw's lead a double life.

many are young people that simply go through the motions until they can free themselves .

others have relatives or family still trapped .

i knew a bloke who despite having sexually abused at least 3 girls in the congregation for years and having been only reprooved for the first one loved to spout on about "the truth " this "satan is control of this world " etc ... even after being disfellowshipped for his "relationship " with one of these girls he still was such a hypocrite , referring to his own daughter as a slut for going clubbing and having a boyfriend ! he went on to abuse my daughter eventually ( iwas not aware of him being a child molster untill after my daughter told me what had happened to her and the police investigated ) he actually talked about "the truth" more than any witness i knew ! good cover i think !

my workmates jw friend of 30 years has deleted her from facebook

this lady is quite new to my workplace and we got chatting and she asked how i met my husband etc ... after i finished telling her of my jw experiances she said i could write a book and i really should !

she said she has a friend who shes known for 30 years and she became a jw about 15 years ago and this friend had recently deleted her off her friends list !

she also said this friend likes to play bingo which she presumed wouldnt be allowed in the religion so had thought it cant be all that strict in that religion !!!!!

Feeling Lost

i used to come on this site a lot more but drifted away.

the thing is that recently, i've been thinking a lot more about my life, and its lack of direction, and purpose.

i'm in a good relationship, i have great friends and support if i need it.

hi faundy , what do you do for a living ? i know just what you mean and do you know what helped me ? i started looking after people with profound learning disabilities that need literally everything doing for them , my heart really goes out to them and had really put my problems into perspective , i feel more spiritual nowadays than feel the need for a religion in my life and i enjoy giving someone much less fortunate than us something to smile about the rewards are amazing ! why not try it ? its made me appreciate life more despite the jw problems that will always be there but are now less important to me (usually !) good luck xx (im in uk too )

i have finally decided to "give up " on jw family !

my inlaws have now not visited my child of 7 for more than 2 years since we moved a half hour drive away as i didnt want to live in the same town as my other childs abuser (an ex min servant ) after he was released from prison !

they only visited once and i made it clear that they were welcome anytime as they left , since then they havnt bothered but have told people that i dont allow them to see my child , which is not true .

my mother in law tried to give some money to my child recently through her disfellowshipped son but he asked "why ?

thanks all so much for your support (again ) i have finally come to the conclusion that in some cases you are better off having no contact with family and as my daughter is such a sensetive little child the emotional damage they could do to her could be horrendous , as last night when i started to kiss her good night she started to cry and said " you are so pretty mummy i cant bare the thought of you dying " so i told her about heaven and such like and it calmed her down , they could really mess her head up !

hi , grewupjw , sorry foyou pain tell us more please . im just having a off day today but im as "over it " as i can be usually ! but just the sight or mention of jws makes me go back to "bad times " in my head , the only answer is to avoid them and even hearing about them! hope you are ok xx
