So who in Jehovah's organization are the 12,000 of Ephraim, and the 12,000 of Manasseh?. If you're the 144,000, shouldn't you know which tribe you belong to, so that you know which gate of Jerusalem to enter.

I'm baptized Ethiopian Orthodox, and if you want to do a Bible study with me, why don't you tell me about the Book of Enoch, the Book of Jubilees, the Books of Adam and Eve, and the Testaments of the Twelve Patriarchs.

Life during the 1,000 reign???
by Joliette inme and my brother recently got into a discussion about the 1,000 reign.
i told him that even after armageddon, you know that you still have to work for your salvation??
he says yes, that he is prepared to work for jehovah (wth), and that it will be a wonderful time.

Ah, the idea of JWs running their own country. It's a good thing that we're not writing this in Russian. Russia has both the history doing those sorts of things, the elbow room, and currently the political inclination. They did it to the Jews with Birobidzhan, so I don't see why they couldn't do it to the Dubs. They make good use of internal passports in that country.

If you have to submit to a hairstyle to do a job, it just feels like your employer owns you off the clock. I can't live like that, because God created us to be free and not slaves. I don't even like patronizing businesses with clean cut requirements.

The end of an era?
by LoveUniHateExams inso it seems there's been some kind of bloodless coup by the military in zimbabwe.. this could very well be the end of an era.. i'm sure many ordinary zimbabweans will be glad to see the back of comrade bob.
indeed, it would be no doubt very tempting for them to see that he gets the kind of treatment that he's been dishing out for 37 years of his despotic rule.. otoh, he is in his 90s.
with a bit of luck he'll die soon.

Whenever some angry white guy starts whining about nonexistent reverse discrimination, it's always useful to point to white Zimbabwean farmers tell him that his whining cheapens the real discrimination faced by white people in other parts of the world. Hopefully things improve there and I lose a talking point.

Is the husband the head of his wife?
by Doug Mason inhow do we explain the marital role with what paul said in 1 cor.
“but i want you to realize that the head of every man is christ, and the head of the woman is man, and the head of christ is god.” (niv).
read a few chapters earlier at 1 corinthians 7 to see what paul does say about the relationships between husband and wife.

Men and women should be equal in almost everything. But according to my understanding of scripture every male householder is a priest over his household so he should say grace unless the woman is Jewish and she's lighting the Sabbath candles. As a Jehovah's Witness her rebuttal is unconvincing to the children. This is one of those points in a marriage that I hold onto despite having lost and then bring up again and again whenever we have a disagreement to point out what a disrespectful wife she is whenever she accuses me of being disrespectful. I know her religion won't allow her to indulge my conviction on this point, and we don't often eat together at the table as a result. But what can I say, I'm entitled to my opinion and I don't care if the relationship suffers for it. -

Has Politics Affected Your Friendships?
by minimus ini’ve read that some families are not looking forward to spending time with their families and friends during the holidays because of their opposing political views.. isn’t that just ridiculous?

My mother voted Green but now supports Trump. Some friends of mine do too. I can't help but be snide and say that he's doing a great job of waking up Congress and the SCOTUS to the need to limit the ever overreaching powers of the Executive branch. Backhanded compliments directed to the Dear Leader are the only way to talk to Trump supporters.
