Interesting Thing My Little Girl Said Today
by pale.emperor inmy 3yo daughter lives with me 4 days and with her mum 3 days.
i have her tues, wed, fri evening and saturday all day.
which means my ex takes her to sunday and thursday meetings but she doesn't go door knocking on saturday because she's with me.. i dont mind - at the moment - because in a way i want her to know the jw jargon so we can talk about it without having to explain what it is, and i want her to compare the bullshit to the real world.

The only thing that would end the organization is if they went mainstream on their main doctrines re Trinity, immortal soul, etc. That would break up the organization like what happened to Herbert Armstrong's former religion after he died.
Otherwise their influence will just gradually wane and weaken over generations, much like religion in general.

Would You Outlaw Jehovah's Witnesses If You Had Your Way?
by minimus ini still believe in freedom of religion even if i disagree with the beliefsof the religion.
what about you?.

Pretty much what Island man said. Just outlaw the harmful practices and policies particularly the blood transfusion policy, two witnesses rule child abuse policy, shunning policy, etc. Ban any religion that refuses to stop clearly harmful practices and arrest the leaders.

What woke you up?
by MrRoboto infor me, i think it was just the right time as i was starting to wake up on other fronts as well (anyone who had went through these will know what i mean).
but it started when i was looking for what info goes on a publisher card, which led to me reading one person's story (ex bethelite) which was pretty crazy to an all-in jw but who trusts those apostates...?.
then i started watching videos on cults, as if my subconscious was trying to tell my concord mind something... when i saw a particular one about a young man in lds getting ready to start their 2 year preaching campaign, including a school, social activities etc, i realized that i couldn't tell the difference between the folks of this mormon cult and the jws (save for some religious differences) .

I was a born in in the 60s. In the early 90s I developed suspicions and intellectual curiosity/honesty about their 1914 chronology and 'generation' teaching. Researching anything I could get my hands on led to the realisation the Watchtowers chronology and hence constant bleating about the end being nigh was deeply flawed. The final confirmation that it was a scam was the infamous 1995 change to the understanding of what 'generation' meant and the change to the Awake magazines masthead about it. It was a sugar-coated admittance of utter failure and false 'prophesying'. I was disgusted. I realised the Watchtower leaders were snake oil salesmen and mentally quit them, although I physically remained associated or a few more years for social and family reasons.

Feeling Alone. Need Emotional Support.
by Doubtfully Yours inplease chime in if you're one of my kindred spirit that happens to literally be trapped in due to strong family/friends ties, or plain fear of being abandoned in old age.. although leaving the org is my ultimate wish and desire, fear of the unknown, fear of how it would change my family dinamics, plain fear alone paralyzes me.
how do you cope in this difficult situation?

Please tell me: what is a relationship with the "person" Jehovah like?
by Maryo indoes anyone out there know of any jws that have talked about what their personal relationship with jehovah was like?
for example, hearing his voice, a certain feeling?
an intellectual understanding?

It's exactly like saying that you have a personal relationship with Zeus or Osiris or any other ancient, mythical god just because you pray to it. Madness.

Russell's aleged freemasonry on JWfacts.com
by NikL inpaul has written an interesting piece on jwfacts.com .
https://jwfacts.com/watchtower/blog/russell-not-a-freemason.php.
anyway, it jogged my memory and reminded me of something i thought i would pass on to you.back in the late 80s i had the opportunity to chat with ray franz on the phone and i asked him about this very thing.he didn't say yes or no to russel's masonic connection but what he said was something like, "he is buried in the masonic section of the cemetery so draw your own conclusion.

The Watchtower Society has without a doubt been used by the Freemasons. Some of the GB are Freemasons.
There is almost no religion as suited to their agenda as the JWs.
Those who mock or try to dispel this simply don't understand the true Masonic agenda.

Circuit Overseer's Idiotic Comment
by FedUpJW inat last night's clam the circuit overseer made this comment, "we elders sometimes have to act as judges in the congregation.
but we (the elders) are imperfect, and so cannot know everything about judicial matters.
that is why we (the elders) have the biblical rule that there must be at least two witnesses to wrongdoing.
-

In ancient Israel the judges were compelled to consider a legal case based on all the evidence whether or not there were two witnesses to an alleged offence.
And its obvious that in the Christian Greek scriptures that Jesus meant the rule to only apply to disputes or allegations between adult or baptized members of the congregation.
Jesus also stated that if the Pharisees did not believe him or his father that the works he did were a witness to the truth of himself, showing that he was more concerned with overall evidence than rigid compliance with a rule for 2 personal witnesses.
Therefore any evidence gathered by the secular authorities should be accepted as a second 'witness', highlighting how imperative it is for the elders to report to the authorities all allegations since 99.9% of child sexual abuse is never witnessed by two persons.
Yet you have absolutely irresponsible idiots like this CO apparently actively discouraging reporting to the secular authorities if theres not two personal witnesses to a child rape.
How utterly morally blind they are.

A long long time. And it still hurts and sucks. Hardest part about being an ex-JW.
May the Watchtower Society and GB rot in hell.
