Where Can I Find A Free Website and Free Hosting On The Web?
by BlackPearl ini want to create a website, but it dawned on me last evening, there must be places on the web that have free website templates and free hosting.
i googled it, and sure enough, there are.
but...what's the catch?

It depends on what you are looking for. Some free websites put ads on your site and take all the revenue from them. I would consider that to be intolerable, but it might not be a big deal for others. When I looked for free web hosting, I wasn't impressed with any of the options. I prefer to use inexpensive web hosting for hosting my files.
Blogs are a different story. There are some great places to get free blogs. Blogger and Wordpress are popular. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions about Blogger, because that is what I use.
I don't know if a blog will satisfy your needs, but it might be worth considering because they remove much of the difficulty of setting up a site. If you plan on making frequent updates they can save a lot of hassle and time.

This kind of thing makes me sick. The elders can use this to enforce dress and grooming standards at the Kingdom Halls, but the Society can claim that they don't have rules about how you have to dress at the Kingdom Hall, even though they hint that you should follow these same rules there too. They use a controlling atmosphere that turns hints into rules and then they deny that they have the rules.

Jehovah's Witnesses, Shunning, and Human Rights
http://watchtowershunning.blogspot.com/I don't have a lot of information there yet, but I'll gradually add articles in the future. There aren't many sites about shunning and none that I know of that are specifically about Jehovah's Witnesses and shunning, so I hope this will be useful.
Recently someone started to complain in the comments about how I use the term human rights. We have gone back and forth a few times. Here is the link in case anyone else wants to join in the discussion.
http://watchtowershunning.blogspot.com/2008/02/shunning-in-twilight-zone.htmlHis comments caused me to do some thinking. I did a Google search for Jehovah's Witnesses human rights and discovered that my blog was the first critical site to come up. I have been getting some traffic with that search term, so I wonder if I am stepping on some toes. The Watchtower Society tries hard to advertise any persecution it receives, but doesn't like people to hear suggestions that they don't respect the rights of it's members.
If you haven't seen it yet, you might also like to take a look at my primary blog about Jehovah's Witnesses.

You are doing a great job with these videos. I hope it causes more Witnesses to disobey the governing body and come on line to associate with us "apostates". Let them try to defend their organisation with silly arguments. It's a good advertisement for how mind controlled they are.

If you are talking about people who are still alive, but trapped in the cult and refusing to associate with me, then yes, in a sense. I'm very concerned about them and hope they escape. However, while they are captives of that mindset, I'm glad to be free from their toxic influence.

I think it is funny how they portrayed evolutionists as believing life came from mud animated by lightning. That's a pretty poor description in my opinion. However, it still seems more logical than the Bible description of men being made of dust animated by god. At least we have evidence that lightning exists. We also know that lifeforms are mostly made of water, which is lacking in dust. Given the evidence, I would have to favor the mud and lightning hypothesis.

Defining God and Atheism
by DT ini'm a nontheist, atheist and agnostic.
i guess i like the term nontheist best, even though it basically means the same as atheist.
to me, nontheist simply says what i am not, while atheist has come to represent what someone is, at least in the minds of some people.

Logically, we can never know anything with complete certainty.
I mean no disrespect. If you believe this to be true, why would you be surprised to find language elusive?I'm not surprised to find language elusive. It think part of the problem is that some people place too much trust in their perception of words. This is especially true about topics that people are emotionally involved in. Atheism in not just a description, it is a word that has been demonised and has changed in meaning as society changes. People often have strong emotional associations and outdated definitions in their mind when they use it. This causes problems in communication when others view the word differently. We can't avoid the fact that language is elusive, but we can avoid some of the problems when we recognise how elusive it can be.

Surge in "anointed ones"
by dozy inthe nightmare scenario is slowly unravelling for the wts.. since 1935 , wtbts policy was to shut up the kingdom of heaven by implying that any new anointed was at best misled & at worst a fake.
franzs replacement theory did little to help matters.
this suppressed many jws from becoming anointed.. recent wt articles & changes in thought has resulted in a surge in jws claiming this status.

I suspect that they may have this planned out for decades into the future. In several years they may say something like we can't be absolutely certain whether the 144,000 is a literal number or just symbolic of a minority of Christians. Then several years after that, they may use stronger language. It's a good way to distract dubs from the nonarrival of Armageddon. When more dubs start claiming the heavenly hope, it might even give them reason to increase their enthusiasm and zeal for the kingdom busywork. The overworked elders might start to think of their reward as being a king and priest in heaven, rather than just a prince on earth.
