I've been thinking about that. The Watchtower made a fictional film that features a warrior wizard, but it's OK because he is defeated in the end. The same is true of many films that feature things that Jehovah's Witnesses don't like. Does this make them OK? For example, is a film that has a witch OK if she eventually gets defeated?

Did you notice the plane in the air? It appears to be Caleb's plane from the beginning of the other video. But, it's just a toy plane. How can it fly like that? It must be magic! Sparlock was identified as magical in the story, so he must be responsible.
Is he enlisting the help of a toy army (remember he is also a warrior) to free himself and Caleb from the clutches of an evil cult?
Something tells me we haven't seen the last of Sparlock!

"Does this make you feel small?"
No. People are midsized objects in our universe. The size of a person compared to to the entire universe is roughly similar to the smallest particle compared to the size of a person. All it takes is a shift in perspective in order for the universe to make a person feel like a godlike giant.

Even classical music wasn't safe. I remember an article warning about music by Wagner, Mahler and Stravinsky. I avoided them for years, without really getting a chance to listen to them and make my own decision.
Ironically, there was an article that suggested that Handel's Messiah was actually OK to listen to, despite it's apparent connection to Christmas. It was pointed out that it wasn't written for Christmas and that it contained upbuilding scriptures set to music. I had some fun pointing that out to other witnesses when they criticized it or other pieces of classical music that fell into the same category.

Anyone going to the KH Sunday to comment on the domestic violence paragraph?
by serenitynow! inthey are doing that article about sister selma getting the crap beat out of her to win her husband over to being a jw.
any suggestions as to the comment i should make?
i was thinking about bringing up the old awake on domestic violence and ask if there has been new light and that women should stay with their abusers..

I hate to see this craziness on Sunday go by without more of a protest. I appreciate that there has been a commendable effort to inform the media and groups concerned with the treatment of women. Unfortunately, they don't seem to be as concerned about this as we are.
I think there is still great potential to record these meetings wherever possible and consolidate real comments into videos for YouTube. It may be that this could trigger a greater reaction than the article itself.
Can anybody clarify the legality of doing this? I believe that these are considered public meetings so there wouldn't be an expectation of privacy, even in states that normally require consent from those who are recorded.

Big Miracle
by DT ini recently saw the movie "big miracle", a story of three gray whales that were trapped in the arctic ice off point barrow, alaska in 1988 with no way to escape without human intervention.
it had some entertaining moments and was made fairly well.
i remember when this happened and it was nice to get more details of what took place.. i think it also provides an interesting perspective on human nature.

"I was looking forward to seeing the movie, and now, yes, you 'spoiled' it for me."
Sorry about that, although I purposely left out mentioning some parts that were interesting, but not directly related to the points I wanted to discuss. Overall, I would say the movie was pretty good, even though I disagreed with many of the actions that were portrayed. I think you may still find it enjoyable, despite the spoilers.
