A problem that I see is that there are fewer Witnesses than Mormons and they are more spread out through the country. It would be harder to organize a mass resignation like that. It isn't impossible, but it could involve a lot of expensive travel.
A petition might work where people sign it online and provide their congregation. Then it could be printed out and delivered to the headquarters in a way that would hopefully capture some media attention.
It would be a real headache for the headquarters to process the petition and alert all the congregations. If they chose not to, it could be argued that it is still a valid resignation. If they tried to take any action against one of these people later on, it could be viewed as harassing a nonmember and subject them to lawsuits.

I was able to get a closeup of the top of that building. Notice to sculpted pattern that resembles the Chrysler Building.

I'm wondering if someone with graphic skills can post an enlarged photo of the top of the building in the background. It really looks like the Chrysler building to me.
If the Watchtower Society (a New York corporation) used a picture of a New York landmark near collapse on the cover of the September issue of the Awake magazine, it would be a sign of extreme callousness. This could be enough to convince a newspaper to pick up the story.

DT
I found out that the Watchtower for September is titled "Does God Care About Women?". I think many witnesses would like to hide the Doomsday Awake under the Watchtower, but the Watchtower is also offensive with that condescending question. They should probably just stay home during September.

It's almost like they are being intentionally offensive. Their headquarters is in New York. They should realize how the public would view this kind of magazine cover. Making it the September issue is incredible arrogant.
It's not like they are criticizing the concept of doomsday. They are peddling their own vision of doomsday that has recently become overshadowed by other popular ideas.
I wonder if there are some newspapers who would be interested in covering this. It's in such bade taste that I think it could make a good story.

If you don't shovel your sidewalk in the winter and someone slips and gets hurt, you could still be sued and held liable even if your city doesn't have a law about shoveling your sidewalk.
The Watchtower Society caused harm because of their neglect and failure to take reasonable precautions. They were held liable depite the fact that they didn't break a specific law.

Is that the Chrysler Building in the background? If so, they may have a hard time using that magazine in New York during September.

Does anybody know what Watchtower will go with that Awake?
