Have The Governing Body Rebelled Against The "Anointed Of Jehovah"? (Questions For Those Still In)
by DT init has been the understanding for decades that jehovah was using the group of anointed on earth to provide for his sheep.
they even changed the baptism questions to indicate acceptance of this arrangement.
many have been disfellowshipped (aka spiritually executed) for failing to fully support this arrangement.

How will the present-day "anointed" react to their demotion?
by Room 215 ini wonder how they will respond to their demotion to parity with the "other sheep" as mere "domestics" in god's house.
and what about the appontment of a 47 yeard-old to the governing boday?
in my neck of the woods, the word of any forty-something who began partaking would fuel the gossip mill for weeks!

It will be interesting to see how they react considering how many of them are "mentally unstable".

So Are Baptisms Before The FDS Change Valid Or Not?
by DT inthe baptism questions since 1985 involve agreeing to be associated with god's spirit directed organization.
it was taught that god directed the organization through the anointed remnant on earth who were know as the faithful and discreet slave.
it was claimed that getting baptized involved agreeing to follow the direction of this anointed group.. now, the governing body claims the be the faithful and discreet slave.

"Valid in what sense?
Ultimately it's their game, they make the rules."
Good question. I guess the important factor is whether they consider it valid. They reject baptisms in other churches, so why not reject baptisms from when the entire organization was following a group that is now rejected as having no authority. If they feel there is a difference, I would like to hear what it is.
It's true that they make the rules, I just think they should have to explain what the rules are.

"The pledge was to the Org, not to the FDS. Internal workings are irrelevant."
It was to God's spirit directed organization. It was taught that it was spirit directed through the anointed remnant. This implied acceptance of the anointed as the group that God was using. In my opinion, changing this changes everything.

The Baptism questions since 1985 involve agreeing to be associated with God's spirit directed organization. It was taught that God directed the organization through the anointed remnant on Earth who were know as the Faithful And Discreet Slave. It was claimed that getting baptized involved agreeing to follow the direction of this anointed group.
Now, the Governing Body claims the be the Faithful And Discreet Slave. This contradicts the baptism vows of millions of people. Shouldn't these people be rebaptized to reflect their loyalty to the Governing Body? Of course, if the previous baptism isn't valid, they should have the option of walking away without repercussions.
If their previous baptisms are valid, how can they be asked to violate their baptism vows by switching their loyalties from the anointed remnant to the Governing Body? It would seem that they have the right to reject this change without any repercussions.
So which is it?
It would be amusing if people started to request rebaptisms to reflect loyalty to the new arrangement. It would force the organization to make a decision on whether the previous baptisms are valid or not. Either way, it would set a dangerous precedent for the Watchtower Society.

I think it is interesting that Jehovah's Witnesses are now divided on one of their core teachings. A small portion have shifted their loyalties to the Governing Body while most of them have no idea of what is happening.
I think it would be appropriate to call this new group of Governing Body loyalists the "Absalom Class". The parallels are just too striking. Those who still accept the leadership of the anointed could be called the "David Class".
I almost wish some Jehovah's Witnesses would knock on my door so I could ask them which group they belong to.

A Prayer Of Thanks And Repentence
by DT inthank you jehovah god for this meeting which is really a luxurious spiritual banquet.
we appreciate the way your son appointed the governing body to provide us with this rich spiritual food at the proper time.. if there are any changes or revisions presented tonight to past truths, please help us to accept them immediately as in a "twinkling of an eye" so that we will not be out of step with your grand celestial chariot for even a moment.. we realize that we all fall short of pleasing you many times and beg you humbly for your forgiveness.
in particular, we must ask you to forgive us for placing our trust and loyalty in the group of anointed on earth, since we mistakenly thought that they were appointed by your son to feed us.

If there are any changes or revisions presented tonight to past truths, please help us to accept them immediately as in a "twinkling of an eye" so that we will not be out of step with your grand celestial chariot for even a moment.
We realize that we all fall short of pleasing you many times and beg you humbly for your forgiveness. In particular, we must ask you to forgive us for placing our trust and loyalty in the group of anointed on Earth, since we mistakenly thought that they were appointed by your son to feed us. The Governing Body has told us that we were mistaken and we humbly repent of our error.
We also ask you to forgive these anointed ones for accepting the praise and loyalty that was not their right. Some of them claimed to provide spiritual food through some kind of mystical connection. We know now that this idea is incorrect and possibly of demonic origin. We can only hope that this presumptuousness was a result of weakness rather than wickedness. If it is not possible to forgive these people, we pray that they will at least be quickly expelled from the congregation so they will no longer serve as a stumbling block for your people.
All these things we pray in the name of Jesus Christ, and the names of the Governing Body, but only when they are serving their roles in the Faithful And Discreet Slave Theocratic Arrangement, amen.

It has been the understanding for decades that Jehovah was using the group of anointed on Earth to provide for his sheep. They even changed the baptism questions to indicate acceptance of this arrangement. Many have been disfellowshipped (AKA spiritually executed) for failing to fully support this arrangement. This theocratic arrangement found its way into countless prayers and became an integral part of the publications, prophecies and doctrinal understanding of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Now the Governing Body is claiming that Jehovah's Witnesses have pledged their loyalty to the wrong group of people all these years! They have withdrawn their support of the anointed as a group and have arbitrarily declared themselves the Faithful And Discreet Slave.
In the Bible, rebelling against the "Anointed of Jehovah" is a very serious offense.
Consider what the Watchtower magazine has said earlier this year (4/15/2012 pages 9,10):
"What have we learned from these warning examples? Absalom and Judas both met a shameful end because of their having turned traitor against the anointed of Jehovah. (2 Sam. 18:9, 14-17; Acts 1:18-20) Delilah's name will forever be associated with treachery and feigned love. (Ps. 119:158) How vital it is that we reject any tendency we may have toward blind ambition or greed, which would cause us to lose Jehovah's favor! Could any lessons be more powerful to help us reject the loathsome trait of disloyalty?"
Now the Governing Body have rebelled against the anointed that Jehovah's Witnesses were expected to show loyalty to for decades.
For those still in:
It's no longer possible to show loyalty to both the Governing Body and the anointed on Earth. It can only be one or the other or neither. Doing nothing is the same as accepting the Governing Body and rejecting the direction of the anointed remnant.
What will you do?
If you decide that you were showing loyalty to the wrong group all these years. What will you do to try to atone for your error?
If you lived in the time of King David, would you have remained loyal to him or accepted the leadership of Absalom? What will you do now that a similar power grab has taken place?
This is not just "new light". The anointed on Earth, who you have been following all these years, were not consulted about this. Neither have they approved this change.
What if this coup by the Governing Body meets the same demise as the rebellion of Absalom? Where does you loyalty lie?

We Need A Group Of Anointed To Challenge The Governing Body
by DT ini believe that a coup is one of the governing body's worst nightmares.. imagine a splinter group led by anointed ones that draw off enough of a following to cause confusion about who is directing the organization.. this may be one of the reasons the governing body removed the special status of the anointed and placed it on an organizational arrangement that they just happen to occupy.. the irony is that this action is a coup in itself.
by declaring themselves leaders in complete control of the organization, they have created a rival group composed of those who disagree.
these people have no obligation to follow these newly self appointed leaders.
