Look shell, just let it go. It doesn't matter whether what she said was patronising or not, but I don't believe it was intended to. It's just that they wanted this thread to "honour a friend" or whatever, so they probably would rather not have any arguing.

I'm going to live life without having to worry about every single flaming restriction that the witnesses weigh you down with.

Christmas shopping unhealthy for men.
by BrentR inmost of us guys hate shopping and now there was a study done on the psysiologic effects of shopping on men.
so ladies, when we don't want to go shopping with you don't take it personal.
it might be relaxing and enjoyable for you but it has the opposite effect on men.. http://www.cbc.ca/world/story/1998/12/22/xmasshop981222.html.

They're probably just worried about his wife and kids having tantrums when they find out he hasn't got the right things. (By the way it's a joke.)

YOU are bound to be like God, KNOWING good and bad
by nicolaou inlet's assume for the moment that god decides what is good and what is bad.
does he 'a' choose what is good because it is obviously good or 'b' is it good simply because he says so?
if 'a' then what is good is independant of god and he has no choice but to accept it as good.. if 'b' then the definition of what is good is arbitrary - god could decide that child abuse was good and it would be because he said so.. clearly this is ridiculous because we all recognise child abuse to be a bad thing and that is why god would never label it as good.

"Does God lack so much confidence in himself that he constantly needs reassurance from "his servants" that they have faith and love for him?
Which one of us "made in God's image " would put our kids to that kind of test to prove their loyalty to us like he did with Abraham."
So very, very true. I've always wondered why he constantly needed to make one of his servants suffer to prove a point.

No natural affection
by Renegade ini find it strange that the witnesses often rant about natural affection.
but the thing is, when people are disfellowshipped, in most cases the persons family cut off any contact with them, they stray to the other side of the road when they see them etc.
now, this must mean that a witness family only loves you for your behaviour not for who you are.

It's strange that they actually believe that we are totally miserable and lost without religion. "The world" isn't really that much of a bad place after all.

I hate the way alot of witnesses seem to think that non-witnesses (if you prefer that term) have no feelings whatsoever. So basically they can say what ever the hell they want to you and you're supposed to put up with it.

I always wondered about this. How could anyone do that someone else? A member of their own family even?

Is it because the 'I's shouldn't have spaces?

So the people always ranting about natural affection don't appear to have any themselves. What are your opinions?
