  hi newbie to this great place

  sorry this has turned out longer than i thought.anyway i lived the life of a single mother fell away from the organisation,and eventually met a (worldly) guy who is the most loving guy i have ever met,my best friend,lover and soulmate.i was disfellowshipped 4 months ago because we live with each other and plan to get married in september,unacceptable to the society hence my disfellowshipping.it has broke my mum and dads heart and im so so sorry for this,i love them so much,but no longer want or believe in the jw beliefs.

  i still believe in god but dont know where im bound as regards my faith,i really do want to have something.

  apart from my mum and dad and the shunning arrangement im so happy,the happiest i have ever been in years,and my 2 youngest ones are happy as well..my eldest daughter is 16 and planning on getting baptised in july which is tearing me apart,she is so like me,but is being brainwashed by a certain crowd of witnesses,need i say anymore...my eldest son who is 18 isnt in the truth and feels the same way i do... anyway thanks for this forum and hope to hear from likeminded friends soon.

  after 11 years out of the job market, i have decided to look for a job.

  Another thing I found horrendously stupid was when I was at a meeting one time and I heard them complaining about 'apostasy'.

  The speaker said,

  "These apostates are outrageous. They are even trying to get people to listen to their views by putting things in the newspaper!"

  So we aren't allowed to put something in a newspaper that no one is being forced to read while they go around to people's houses constantly nagging them taking a magazine?

  I'm not naming them but I was speaking to a JW about the possibility of aliens in space. (which I find very likely with the masses of planets out there apparently just lying around) They said

  "If there was, the ransom wouldn't exist because Jehovah wouldn't have to prove anything because it had already been proven on another planet so it's not true."

  "So he just got bored one day and started randomly created planets for us to look at?"

  "I didn't say that, just stay faithful."

  why do jw look down on someone going to college?

  i wil never forget how when i graduated from high school in 1988 i had the opportnity to go to college.

  all expenses paid.

  my dad didnt approve of it and he was so emotionally abusive that i didnt go because i was told that i had to pioneer.

  Old people and the internet

  i just read a post where a 52 year old woman posted a huge diatribe about a certain subject....not a big deal but it was used with multiple sized fonts and well just plainly over sized.

  i have noticed this is a problem with most older ones who post on the internet?

  whats up with that?
