They all are equally redundant in their promises, every 4 years and we all know that they have no control over what actually happens to those of us at the bottom of the ladder.

CoCo, I once had a pair of rose colored glasses. It seemed as though the world was always gloomy. Only after taking them off, did I realise that it wasn't the world that was gloomy looking it was the ORG that gave me the ROSE colored glasses.

CoCo.....very sweet indeed. I had wished in my younger years that I had had 2 gran parents that had been devoted to one another as yours. However, that was not the case. Both sets of my grandparents had divorced when my parents were very young. Hence, I did not enjoy the enteraction with loving grandparents and exemplars you.
It's rather interesting, wouldn't you agree how a touching story such as yours can draw from a deep well of memories that never happened. Sad, too. My friend, you do have a way with words and a way of reaching into one's heart. That's what I appreciate most of you dear friend.

i am being investigated judicially, although weeks are going by without the elders saying anything to me about it.
i still comment and give my talks.. anyway, some of my friends are getting word about me being investigated, some in my family too.
a couple i used to preach with every week no longer call me and bug me to join them.
As I have said before, my older son is beginning to totally ingore my now that they heard about avoiding weak or inactive family members at the DC. I have called him twice on his cell and he ALWAYS answers it, NOT now however. It is very said indeed and I feel for you my friend. Fortunately, I have NO jw friends now as I have totally separated myself rom them over the years.

Fader.....Gone.....You tell me. I quit going in November of 2004. Moved out of the territory in 2006. They tried calling on me in 2005 and I guess I just told them that I had some issues with family or certain individuals. I really can't remember what I did tell them. I haven't seen any of them since although I do have a son that is active....SIGH........
Personally, I don't belive in anything anymore, just what I can see in front of me. There were just too many lies told and perpetuated on us. Bible, Moses, Noah, Jesus, Job, angels, devils.....SHOW ME!

Dagney and Tinker....Yes, you are right. It seems to me that in the last few years I have become MUCH more outgoing towards people, any one in fact. Not that I haven't always been this sort of person myself, but I had a tendancy to avoid jws when i saw them. That was up until 5 or 6 years ago. I have been fading now for 4 years and in this time I make it a point to approach them and ask them how they are doing.
I make it a point to introduce my new bride of 5 years and almost to embarrasment I make them acknowledge her. She's not a jw and they all know it by now. So what! I'm not either, any more. Flount it I say! make them squirm a little is the way I see it. ERRR! Don't get me going again.
I'm happy and they aren't!! Right??!! HAH!!

Changling.........3 years ago I attended the viewing of my best friend. He was not a jw but his wife was. Our children had been married to each other AFTER we had developed our friendship. I was not df'd or anything at that time nor am I now.
I noticed a sister, my mother had "brought " her into the truth in the late 60's, sitting with another sister. Now, granted, I knew that she was a good friend of my ex's, and I also knew that my ex had probably told her all the gory details of our life. However, I felt compelled to walk over to her and greet her. I put out my hand to her and said " Hello, so-and so, how are you? "
Her response to me was to cross her arms in front of her and pull them to her chest. I simply replied, " My aren't we cordial in our older age".
There are snappy replies to their insolense, you just have to be prepared to deliver them, as did Dawg. I applaud you dawg. carry on friends.

PIONEER TRANSMISSION...........Started by 2 brothers who wanted to work part time/pioneer.
PIONEER AUTO BODY...........2 witnesses, the second a friend of mine. One, newly baptised, married a young sister who claimed to be annointed. His partner was a faithful brother, my old friend, looking to invest his money. Well, the first guy got involved in illegal parts sales and trouble with the IRS. He left town and my old friend got got holding the bag. Lost his home, reputation, etc.
