while i find it repugnant, i cannot help
but think for many JWs, they sincerely
believe they are offering a hope, not a hype....
still.... it is a repugnant, intrusive practice,
especially if conducted by inept individuals
today i went into a charity shop near where i live.
it was the cancer research shop.
when i was there i noticed a nwt , (the new softback version), sitting on the shelf amongst the bric-a-brac.

i'm trying to respect the privacy of this individual, so forgive me if i'm a little too vague in my descriptions.. this for me, was the most emotional and difficult judicial matter that i have ever experienced.
its been many years since this happened and i'm still troubled, and troubled for this individual.. a young sister had committed fornication and i was chosen to sit on the judicial committee.. the case didn't make sense at first.
she was a faithful example in the congregation and was very much liked by all.
ahhh the spirit of the law vs the letter of the law....

when it comes to people's lives?
in accordance with the fine example given by our lord jesus, from the 1.1.10 there will be a new aspect to the meetings.
this will be following in the footsteps of christ as he washed the feet of his disciples, what a loving lesson in humility!.
we do well to follow this example and therefore after the opening prayer of every meeting 4 brothers will be assigned the priviage of washing the feet of our dear brothers and sisters.

a ritualistic washing of the feet...
havent been inside a catholic church
since the assassination attempt on
john paul II, so i dont know if they
wash women's feet now, or if they
even still have the ritual....
i've been invited to attend a wedding reception of a "sister" that i was formerly close with.
there was no major breaking up of the friendship or anything, other than her not liking a statement i made.
just a distancing apart.

i have attended just a handful of meetings over the 2 months.
i went yesterday, because i had an assignment and i really wanted to see my mate talk about masturbation from the platform, knowing he would be very uncomfortable about it!!!!.
anyway after the meeting i was approached by the cobe.
so if you were to put jah first,
then your current situation matters not....
and if you leave off on assignments
then other elders have to take up the slack....
but these other elders are finding it hard, too?

the other day some friends and i were talking about shows we liked when we were kids.
one show i absolutely loved when i was a kid, but cannot remember the name, was about some kids who would fly around in a tall wooden rocket ship.
the characters were all marionettes on strings and the ship looked like it was cobbled together will bits and pieces of scrap wood with a cone on the top.. i think it aired in the 1970's or 1980's.
back in the 60s it was Fireball XL5...

her son, jesse, is in serious condition.. my son is in surgery and may lose his hand and arm.. jesse got an infection in a cut on his finger.
his finger and hand swelled to the size of an arm .. .
they have to do surgery on his hand and arm.
