  How did you feel when they let a 10 year old boy stand up on the podium and a sister couldn't ?

  one thing that really bothered me about the ministry school was letting a little boy around 10 years old read an outline and scripture.

  he faced and addressed the audience.

  he was actually teaching.

  there were grown men in the BoE
  who should not have been let near
  a microphone.... i swear to gods that
  my teeth were on edge so many times
  hearing the speakers at the frikkin
  DC/CAs scrwing up "you and I" and
  "you and me"

  not that there are not women
  who totally hatch the mother tongue
  but i sure as heck could have covered
  the job with a skirt on...

  all time favorite blunder?
  at a district convention the MALE
  speaker was reading joyce kilmer's
  "Trees" (the immortal line:
  "only god can make a tree)

  and kept referring to HIM as a woman....

  yeah, i really struggled

  Recent earthquakes--share tips to prepare for shepherding calls

  so obviously there have been a few big earthquakes recently.

  if dubs are living up to their beliefs, they'll be tripping over each other to do a last ditch effort to reach out to us one last time to save us from the big a.. now, we all know instead most of them are, as we speak, probably sitting around gloating over the fact we'll be bird food soon.

  but that's besides the point.. i thought we'd best be prepared for the upcoming wave of sheperding calls and the "come back to gee-ho-vuhs", so let's pool our ideas.. mine:.

  Controversy on the ice!! Canadian Hockey women drinking beer!!!!!!

  olympic officials shocked to see the hockey players celebrating drinking beer and smoking cigars.. but canadians are even more surprised and shocked to see it wasn't molson!!!!.

  2010 DC" Remain in Gods Love"...Most Unloving Yet??

  the talk outlines for the summers conventions are only being printed over the next 2 weeks or so.. the finished outlines were ready in the middle of december 2009, however sources that i trust tell me that at least 5 of the talks were returned for last minute rewriting which is highly unusual.

  this has held up the printing until now, a delay of over a month.

  this is a fact!!.

  I Went Back To the Kingdom Hall

  last year i went back to the hall while even though i was disfellowsipped 9 years ago and never intend to get reinstated.

  i went back to talk to all my friends and relatives and blantantly ignore the disfellowshipping policy.

  i chose to go to my jw parents hall where they are in "good standing" and regularly attend meetings as they ingnore their son.

  if you leave the scene with the elduhs appearing to the
  rank and file members of the kingdom hall to be the
  fanatics rather than appear to be one yourself,
  then you have them in suspense waiting for the punch
  ali never gave foreman plus the lasting impression of
  the elduhs doing a fairly accurate performance of
  chicken little and the sky is falling will linger

  "Spiritual Mapping" - Why god loves Wisconsin

  a new trend in the us evangelical and pentecostal movement known as "spiritual mapping" is gaining popularity.. its proponents claim to know which geographical locations have been favoured by god and which are the domain of demons.

  of course the usa is viewed as being gods special territory but in particular wisconsin and alaska enjoy special favour.. it would be laughable if it wasn't so cruel.

  it also lies behind the kind of comment made by pat robertson in the wake of the haitian earthquake which blamed demonic control of the land for its disaster.. a new phrase, the 10/40 window, describes the part of the globe stretching across north africa and asia which is believed to be a "demonic territorial stronghold" under the control of demons that made pacts with previous inhabitants of the territory.. it is the same kind of thinking, if it can be called thinking at all, that leads to christians trying to pray demons out of states, towns or neighborhoods where they believe demons to hold sway.

  How did you respond?

  we have not attended any meetings for several months now as we continue our fade.

  how have you dealt with the nosey parkers who hold the territory that you live in and insist on "dropping by".

  first it was the family that holds the card and then a coule of other familes as they work our territory.. i am tired of not answering the door (they know we are home) and need a cute but not revealing comeback to the "we miss you at the meetings" line.
