what's wrong with you slackers?
huh?
enough with your excuses!!!

i started this thread because some people are telling lies in another thread about the tea party.. i am one of the volunteers that helps arrange and put on tea party rallies in southern mississippi.
we do not have a membership roll.. we are not a political party.. we have one basic issue that we are addressing, which is: we want federal spending to be lower than federal revenues.
we do not say how this is to be achieved.. some liars on this site are claiming that the tea parties are actively pushing to achieve the balanced budget by cutting only liberal policies.
be creative.
have some fun.

i dont actually mind my real name,
esp my first name since i was named
after a very close family friend...
last name? it is my husband's family name,
changed at Ellis island to one that is
1) mispronounced when read
2) misspelled when heard
i would consider being called sophia quinn
i can't see myself not attending.
i would feel horrible not to go.
i don't know where i'm going to land and if i had to look back and think i didn't go... well, i would feel awful..
reminds me of a lecture i heard in a sociology class
guest speaker was a female rabbi, a REAL departure
from the norm back in the late '70s....
she talked about "american civil religion" which
included the developing trend of americans relying on
or utilizing religions (of all stripes) for the BIG THREE
hatch, match, dispatch....
plus incidental "holy days/holidays"
it was/is something the participants DO
not necessarily anything they BELIEVE
i can't see myself not attending.
i would feel horrible not to go.

today:
a little political door to door canvassing for local issues
a quick run to the next town over to dump old electronics for FREE!!!!!
a play at our very vibrant community theatre this evening, with a good
and "fun to be with" friend; dinner is a big maybe if she works too late....
dancing at lughnasa
sunday:
conquer the concepts of pheynl methyl ethers, oxides (aka cyclic ethers), lactones, and coumarins
each day fun in its own way!
sorry to hear about your friend, robdar....
what can you say? i would say "i am sorry
this looked like a good idea and i am glad
it didnt work"....
i have agreed to meet tomorrow, saturday,.
at 9 am to organize in groups and then go.
door to door til around noon, sharing a .
counting time, speeding up the work, service car!!!
omg what a crock-load of "loaded" language!!!
it seems so tragically funny now, but i have not
forgotten the POWER i allowed the b0rg to have
in my life, my decisions, my relationships....
now i will be pounding on doors asking my genuine
neighbours to consider the very real, timely issues
that will affect the life of our shared community....
the only thing really getting closer is election day!!
hey pbrow.... you a brewers fan? ;-)
i know there are many active jw's here and was just wondering if anyone is going to take advantage of april's special of only 30 hours for the month.. i actually might, just to irk some of the elders that can't figure me out in their minds.. it would involve 2 long days ... that's it.
even i can go out in fs in the morning with the group and hang out at bus stops and train stations the rest of the day.. i am really tempted.. rub a dub.
until the (state) elections on the 5th, i will do about 2.5 hourscanvassing a day, so that is 10 hrs, then on the 6th i have
a board meeting with the PFLAG chapter, so that is 2 more,
bringing me up to 12, then i have an opportunity to present
a program at our food co-op, split into a 4 hour stintin the
actual store one week and a 90 minutepresentation the
next week at the local library so that is 17.5 hours... i will
spend part of next weekend helping my BFF's mother while
my friend is out of town, including meal prep, so that'll be
4-6hrs so that is about 22-23.... then there is the PFLAG
chapter meeting and that is easy 3+,when you count the
set-up/take-down time so that is looking like about 25+
yeah, i can make 30 without breakin' a sweat....
so YEAH, i'm in!

sound creepily familiar, doesn't it?!
thing is, this is to canvass for the city council
and school board candidates and to get out
the vote for a pretty important state supreme
court election here in america's dairyland...
the meeting will be at a local coffee shop/bakery
and no one will be wearing a tie... or dress
i, however, WILL be wearing a headcovering... a touque
(since temps will not climb above freezing tomorrow!)
enjoy your saturday!!! do something that feels passionate!
