MY BROTHER-IN-LAW HAS DIED
by Mary inthis is one post i had always hoped i would never have to do, but after a long and brave battle, my beloved brother in law has died.
i have done a couple of threads on this in the past, so many of you know the battles he was facing.
he had been diagnosed earlier this year with myelodysplastic syndrome and the mortality rate of this disease is quite high.

- chthonic
- 1882, from Gk. khthonios "in the earth," from khthon "the earth, solid surface of the earth" (mostly poetic) from PIE root *dhghem- (cf. first element in chameleon, also L. humus "earth, soil," humilis "low;" Lith. zeme , O.C.S. zemlja "earth;" Skt. ksam- "earth" (opposed to "sky"); O.Ir. du , gen. don "place," earlier "earth"). Chthonian is from 1850.

the biggies?
one of my (female) mates and i built a 4 stall stable
attached to a pole building, and i did the wiring after
spending 3 evenings at a library reading books on
wiring design... including a 3 way switchdid a rip and tear to totally gut a 2 story house,
leaving only the frame, jacked it up to demolish the
field stone foundation that was shitting out at the corners,
built forms and hand mixed concrete for the new foundation,
hauled sand for weeks, one wheel barrow at a time to fill
the former crawl space in order to pour a slab under the house,
and help lay the tubing for an infloor zoned heating system
prior to the concrete "pour"whch turned out to be a wheelbarrow
job since the truck couldnt reach the house.....tiled a couple of bathrooms
re-roofed a multi-purpose building last fall, with the same mate
that i built the horse stable withbuilt 2 tongue and groove knotty pine closets in a basement bedroom
built a handicap access ramp for a 20 year old doberman

untitled
by BorgHater ini always think about the thousands of jw's who have lost thier lives over the years by refusing blood transfusions, but sometimes i forget about all those poor witnesses who died in concentration camps during ww2.
when i was a jw i would comfort myself with the thought that although those brothers suffered, they were doing it for jehovah.
now i realise what a needless, tragic waste of precious human life that really was it makes me so sad.

yeah, lemme tell you my hope is to see the b0rg hit
right where it hurts them the most... in the old cha-ching!!too bad it will be on account of a tragedy based on misguided belief
i second your response, questioning everything
i am HORRIFIED to think i might have made a decision
that led to the death of a child because of a cult....
i WOULD HAVE DONE IT!!!!!!gives me a sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach
decidedly has turned me off from religiosity in every form
where a higher power is the influence..... -

Just worn out
by EmptyInside ini thought it best i stay a lurker.
it's just right now, i'm going through some doubts and just plain discouraged.
sometimes, trying to do everything just wears me out, and i feel like i'm suffocating.

welcome to the boards
as was said... many people in those
marriages you observe are emotionally
exhausted and disappointed and feeling
"weak" because they cannot live up to the
demands of the WTS...it is exhausting to keep that hamster wheel turning...
most of us have been where you are, thinking there is
something wrong with US because of how we genuinely
feel, but i for one have come to discover, it never was
about how weak i was, just how unaware....godspeed

i was beaten,...
my mother used a riding crop she bought in mexico..
called it a quirt... she was a raging drunk with anger issues...
she didnt care where the blows fell, she just kept swinging....
here's to ya lizzie!i did spank my kids...
in private, under control and limited to 3 swats...
they actually had great influence in whether we
got to 3.... by the time they were double digit in age
we had moved beyond that -

another cheesehead representin' !!
gets plenty cold here on the south shore of the upper lake...
i suspect nodak is the coldest, altho international falls, mn
gets a lot of "coldest place in the US"weather reporting....
(the template for the bullwinkle town of frostbite falls)i have had more than one neighbour to the north tell me
winnepeg manitoba is the coldest part of the country...
goes by the moniker "winterpeg, mani-snow-ba"
( i suspect nunavut has a quarrel with that)
