godspeed you to a place
of manifest comfort....
i have been awol for a while.
i lost my husband to cancer after a long couragous battle of 5 years.

bless your heart, mate
godspeed you to a place
of manifest comfort....
yeah it was kinda pathetic wearing my "startski and hutch" sun glasses and a huge serial killer hat just to place some bets during melbourne's horse racing carnival!
a guy nodded at me as i left.... i dont see anything in the bible about gambling...."goddess of goodluck" crap just doesn't make sense, and greed well everyone who works an extra saturday could be disfellowshiped for "greed.
" i can now bet from home.....awesome.
my oldest son has told me the cheapest
night out on the town is to go into a casino
with $40.... he said he can play all night, eat
provided snacks, buy a few drinks, usu the
music is decent ....
anything he walks out with is net...
he says you cant get dinner and a
concert for the price, so he sees it
as win-win.... even if he loses!
i was in a congregation once which had a large number of desperately poor people in it.
there was an elderly sister, she lived near me, a sweet woman, who became homeless because her ramshackled old house caught fire.
around that same time one of the overseers (imagine that using a slavery term), i forget if it was district or circuit overseer, came to town wanting a new rv/truck combo.
way to be a mensch!!!
way to heap the coals!!!
way to be a decent human being!!!
welcome to the boards!!

i think most religions have their good and bad points about them.
some religions (most) teach if you're a "bad" person or a sinner who doesn't become "born again", that you're going to burn in hellfire forever and ever!
some religions teach intolerance toward "infidels" or "apostates".
i support the advancing forces of reason
and rational thought that will result in the
ultimate erosion of the basis for institutions
that rely on mysticism and belief in a deity
whose "revealed" whims are used by an entrenched
heirarchy to acquire wealth and manipulate its adherents....
until then, like undercover and others have already said....
as long as they play nice and stay the hell out of arenas
in which they have no business, like legislation, policy development
and actual government of populations that include non-adherents
then i dont give a rat's rear end if they fail or flourish...
from the dec. 15 "let's take a swan dive off the temple mount in regard to employment" issue, page 28.
"teenagers have experienced opposition from unbelieving parents.
some have even been ordered out of the home, but they were taken in by kindly witnesses.
un-frikkin-believable....
from many of your posts ive noticed some of you, who never were df or da are practicaly shunned by your family memebers or congregation memebers.
does that really mean they wouldnt talk to you or greet you, if they meet you on the street or if you call them?.
i live in eastern europe and i never in my life heard about such attitude.
as far as i know i have not been DF'd

peeking at me thru a display case while
i was in the checkout line! it was the
goofiest thing i have seen from them...
